PackTenna Mini In-Line RF Feedline Chokes
PackTenna Mini In-Line RF Feedline Chokes are designed to suppress RF interference caused by common mode current flowing from the antenna feed point back to the radio. This type of current can disrupt radio performance and affect nearby equipment. In-line chokes are recommended for all end-fed antennas when operating above 20 watts. While you may not experience issues immediately, RF interference can occur as you increase power, change bands, adjust coax length, or reposition the antenna.

DX Engineering Control Line Terminal Boards
DX Engineering Control Line Terminal Boards are designed to provide a flexible and simplified approach to control line surge protection. The DXE-CLTB is a small, 3 inch square printed circuit board (PCB) with four ten-wire compression screw terminal blocks that handle from 14 to 26 AWG conductors and up to 10A. The two outer terminal blocks are for input and output of the control wires and the two 45 degree angled ten-wire compression screw terminal blocks are for connecting the required number of individual electronic surge protection components. This provides for the choice of components to install between the control line and ground for shunt protection. Metal Oxide Varistor (MOV), Gas Discharge Tube (GDT), EMP Suppressor TVS Diodes, RF Bypass Capacitors and other wire lead components are easily connected between each control line conductor and ground with the DXE-CLTB. This open-board, no-chassis concept allows easy mounting on a single point grounding panel, to support simplified inspection and exchange of control line electronic surge protection components that should be done on a regular basis. For effective protection wherever electronic devices are used as a shunt to ground, a low impedance ground is crucial. The DXE-CLTB Control Line Terminal Board has four corner ground plane screw holes. It includes a hardware kit of four self-tapping screws, spacers and external tooth washers, for mounting the PCB on a metal grounding panel inside an enclosure. The DXE-CLTB-M Control Line Terminal Board also includes a 10-pack of MOVs. DX Engineering Phillystran Steel Tail Kits
DX Engineering Phillystran Steel Tail Kits provide the appropriate transition from non-metallic to metallic guying cable at the ground end of tower guying systems. Steel Tail Kits are available for Phillystran HPTG-4000I, -6700I and 11200I Guy Lines. What is the function of the steel tail? Here is the recommendation by Phillystran, the manufacturer of HPTG-I High Performance Tower Guy non-metallic guy lines: A steel tail is a length of EHS (Extra High Strength) steel guy line connecting the HPTG-I assemblies to the turnbuckle or guy anchor. The steel tail protects the HPTG-I assemblies from damage due to brush fires, lawn maintenance equipment or vandals. The steel tail length should be sufficient to get the bottom end of the HPTG-I assembly above arm's reach, or above brush tops (if located in a marsh or tall brush area). The HPTG-I should never pass through tree limbs or be allowed to rub against poles or trees. The steel tail allows for easier guy length calculations and serves as a guy tension monitoring point, as well as a safer area to attach guy grips during guy line installation and tensioning. Eliminating the hassle of buying a length of steel cable and obtaining a special tool to cut it, DX Engineering Phillystran Steel Tail Kits provide everything needed to isolate your tower's non-metallic guy cable from harm. Three different size kits are available for different tower guying requirements provided by Phillystran guy cables 4000I, 6700I and 11200I. Here are the items included in these innovative Steel Tail kits: - 12 ft. EHS steel guy line, Galvanized, in three kit sizes, 3/16 in., 1/4 in. or 5/16 in. - Porcelain Guy Line Strain Insulator, 502 or 504 depending upon kit size - Galvanized Steel Preform Dead End Big-Grips for EHS steel guy line, two per line - Heavy Duty Thimble, galvanized steel, appropriately sized for each kit - Cable Ties, UV protected Black, four, to secure installed Big-Grip ends Note: Phillystran guy line and Preform Dead End Big-Grips for Phillystran are not provided in this kit and must be ordered separately. DX Engineering Phillystran Steel Tail Kits provide Porcelain Guy Line Strain Insulators for the top end of the Steel Tail so that the galvanized steel Big-Grips for the Phillystran and for the EHS Steel Guy Lines do not touching and make RF noise. Mastrant Antenna Support and Guy Line Ropes
Mastrant Antenna Support and Guy Line Ropes are available in several sizes and strength ratings, perfect for support of wire antennas, vertical antennas and antenna masts, as well as support of Yagi booms and elements. Mastrant ropes are of the highest quality for strength and are UV-protected for extended longevity. MASTRANT-O is a highly reflective rope (bright orange plus braided reflective tape) based on long-term proven Polyester (Dacron) product line. It is designed for maximum visibility in public places such as Field Day and POTA activities. Like all Mastrant ropes, it is UV stable and resistant to all weather conditions. It has low weight, great abrasion resistance, great durability and is nonconductive (no effect whatsoever on your antenna). Moreover, in contrast to ropes made from aramid fibers (Kevlar, Vectran, Technora, Twaron), it has knot strength about 60 %. Mastrant-P and Mastrant-R Ropes are stronger than other synthetic ropes of the same size, made from proven modern polyester. Mastrant-Q is a new rope made from a blend of polyester and polypropylene, designed specifically for guying applications. It offers an excellent performance-to-price ratio and has a knot strength of approximately 60%. It replaces Mastrant-P in diameters of 6 mm (1/4 in.) and larger. Mastrant-S is a similar polyester/polypropylene rope, distinguished by its highly reflective strands for increased visibility. Mastrant-M is their highest strength rope with the Dyneema® DM20 core, a superior synthetic rope offering high performance at an affordable price. Very high strength, negligible elongation, very low weight, and great abrasion resistance are all attributes that make Mastrant-M the best rope for guying. Larger, stronger sizes of Mastrant-M are used in Europe and other parts of the world for tower guying. Durability and safety are of prime concern to ensure that an antenna installation remains fully operational for a long time. Antennas and guy lines are exposed to changing weather conditions, mechanical strain, UV radiation, humidity, and more. These non-conductive synthetic fibers have all the necessary qualities: high strength, negligible stretch but good flexibility, long life, low moisture collection, fast drying, a minimum bending radius adding the ability to tie knots, good UV radiation resistance, weather durability and resistance to acids and alkali. Conversely, steel guying wires are heavy, difficult to work with, and their strength deteriorates with time due to corrosion and general aging. Electrical conductivity of steel guys is an undesirable feature, as they interact with the antennas and adversely modify radiation patterns. Thanks to recent developments in synthetic materials, both amateur and professional users are changing over to non-conductive guys and ropes. Mastrant offers these products for a variety of applications, from thin support lines used for wire antennas and beams, to rope guys for supporting small and portable masts and vertical antennas. When you need quality rope to install, replace, or modify your antenna systems, consider Mastrant Antenna Support and Guy Line Ropes, now available from DX Engineering.

DX Engineering Ladder Line Surge Protector
Built by popular demand, the DX Engineering Ladder Line Surge Protector is ready to be placed in line with your balanced feedline antenna system! For many years, hams have asked us for a surge protector for use with their 300 ohm and 450 ohm ladder line fed antennas. Decades ago automotive spark plugs or arc gaps were used for shunting lightning pulses from balanced feeders to ground. But, you never really knew if they were going to work, if they really were continuing to work or if they were affecting the tuning. Here is the modern approach to providing surge protection for ladder line fed antennas. Made with components similar to those used in coaxial protectors, the DXE-LLSP uses much larger capacitors, resistors and gas discharge tubes on each leg of the ladder line to offer excellent surge protection capabilities at high SWR. These components are rated to handle 5 kW, so this protector will easily handle well over legal limit RF power at the high standing wave ratios expected on balanced line. Plus, the Ladder Line Surge Protector bleeds off the static charge that is collected on your antenna from wind driven sand, rain and snow! The DXE-LLSP Ladder Line Surge Protector is built to sustain multiple minor surges. As with any surge protector, there is no guarantee that a direct hit from lightning will be stopped. A replacement parts kit is also available to refurbish your pulse damaged protector: DXE-LLSP-RP Features of the DX Engineering Ladder Line Surge Protector: • Standard size NEMA enclosure; 4 x 4 x 2 in. nominal box dimensions; mounting tab holes on centers: 4.625 x 2.125 in. • Works with 450 ohm or 300 ohm Ladder Line and 600 ohm open-wire feeder • Internal Gas Discharge Tubes, Capacitors and Resistors • Can withstand multiple minor surges and shunts them to ground • Bleeds off static charge collected from wind driven snow, rain and sand • Weep holes allow any buildup of internal moisture to drain out • Handles well over legal limit at high SWR as expected on balanced line NOTE: The DXE-LLSP is an RF only device that does not carry DC voltage. Therefore it cannot be tested with a multimeter. It must be tested with an analyzer and a 300 ohm resistor, or by connecting an antenna feedline. If there is infinite SWR or no receive, the components have been damaged by lightning pulse energy and need to be replaced with the DXE-LLSP-RP Ladder Line Surge Protector Replacement Parts Kit. DX Engineering Key Line Combiner
DX Engineering Key Line Combiner – DXE-3RIGKEYLINE is another handy gadget that can take the ground-on-transmit amplifier keying lines from up to three transceivers or other devices and connect them to one amplifier or accessory. All four connectors are female RCA phono. After we came out with the DXE-KEYLINE-3 for one radio to key an amp and two other accessories, then the requests for this DXE-3RIGKEYLINE combiner came in. It really isn't surprising that many hams have multiple transceivers but only one amplifier. So, while a coax switch handles the RF, now the DXE-3RIG-KEYLINE handles the PTT keying from three radios to one amplifier. We also have a two-input, two-output combiner-splitter DXE-KEYLINE-DUAL, if that fills your needs. Each keying input of this device is guarded with a separate 45V 2A Schottky diode, providing ground-on-transmit isolation between each rig keying line. Therefore, this combiner will keep the load or voltage of any one device from affecting the others. This device is passive, meaning that it requires no power to function. It is not a transistor buffer and it has no relays. The DX Engineering Transceiver Key Line Combiner DXE-3RIGKEYLINE allows two or three ground-on-transmit keying lines inputs to key this unit's single output. It's another handy device that can be used in lots of ham shacks and it's a great gift item for the Amateur Radio operator who has everything… except one of these gems!

DX Engineering Transceiver Key Line Splitter
DX Engineering Transceiver Key Line Splitter – a handy gadget designed to be connected to the 'Ground-On-Transmit' amplifier keying line of a transceiver. This single-input, triple-output passive DC only unit provides multiple PTT keying lines, two for other accessories in addition to one for the amplifier. All four connectors are female RCA phono. Many special Amateur Radio devices, from receive accessories to simple phasing units and even automatic antenna switches, need to use the same T/R keying line as your amplifier. But they don't have a keying line pass-through for the amplifier. The Transceiver Key Line Splitter is that handy item that is needed in almost every shack! It's a great gift item for the ham who has everything! Developed by Ed, K8IV, you can think of it as an "IV" line for your radio's amp keying output, allowing more than just an amplifier to switch when your transceiver goes to transmit. Each keying output of this device is guarded with a separate 45V 2A Schottky diode, providing ground-on-transmit isolation between each accessory keying line. Therefore, this splitter will keep the load or voltage of any one device from affecting the others. But, the KEYLINE-3 input depends upon the voltage and current rating of your transceiver's transistor or relay keying circuit for an amplifier, so check your manual for the total that it will safely handle. Most accessory keying lines send 13.8 Vdc at only a few milliamps, so this combination typically works without issue. The KEYLINE-3 is passive, meaning that it requires no power to function. It is not a transistor buffer and it has no relays. We really want to call it the "Key Line 3.14" - (key line pi). You know… three outputs from one input with a total of four phono female connectors. But we can't call it a "pie" because someone might think they are buying some kind of non-raspberry micro-PC or something! No, it's just a splitter. So, here's the DX Engineering Transceiver Key Line Splitter with ground-on transmit for each port. Get your slice today!

DX Engineering Key Line Combiner-Splitter
DX Engineering Key Line Combiner-Splitter – DXE-KEYLINE-DUAL is yet another handy gadget that can take two ground-on-transmit amplifier keying lines from up to two transceivers or other devices and connect them to two amplifiers or accessories. All four connectors are female RCA phono. After we came out with the DXE-KEYLINE-3 for one radio to key an amp and two other accessories, then the requests for the DXE-3RIGKEYLINE Combiner and this DXE-KEYLINE-DUAL two-rig to two amp combiner-splitter came in. It really isn't surprising; some hams have two radios and two amplifiers or an amp and an accessory that both need to be keyed. While a couple of coax switches can handle the RF, now the DXE-KEYLINE-DUAL handles the PTT keying from two radios going to two amplifiers or to one amp and one accessory. Each keying input and output of this device is guarded with a separate 45V 2A Schottky diode, providing ground-on-transmit isolation between each keying input and output line. Therefore, this combiner-splitter will keep the load or voltage of any one device from affecting the others. This device is passive, meaning that it requires no power to function. It is not a transistor buffer and it has no relays. The DX Engineering Transceiver Key Line Combiner-Splitter DXE-KEYLINE-DUAL allows two ground-on-transmit keying lines inputs to key this unit's two outputs. It's another handy device that can be used in lots of ham shacks and it's a great gift item for the Amateur Radio operator who has everything… except one of these gems!

REZ Antenna Systems CM7 Common Mode Feedline Chokes
REZ Antenna Systems CM7 Common Mode Feedline Chokes are inline 1:1 common mode feedline chokes, consisting of seven mix-31 ferrite beads and RG223/U double shield coax. Proudly made in the USA, the compact and streamlined CM7 was designed to solve some of the most common issues that can negatively impact antenna system tuning and performance. For instance, common mode current carried on the outside of a coaxial cable can cause unwanted RF traveling back to your operating position, causing many issues. Another common issue is that the coax will become part of the antenna system and begin radiating RF. In most cases this is undesirable. Simply install the CM7 at the feed point of your antenna and attach your exiting coaxial cable to the opposite end. The CM7 can be used with many popular antenna types, such as EFHW, dipoles, random wires and verticals, to improve tuning consistency and antenna performance. Many antennas require the use of a 1:1 choke to isolate the coaxial cable from the antenna system for proper performance. Why not improve the performance of your antenna system? DX Engineering Yagi Antenna Hairpin Matching Systems
DX Engineering Yagi Antenna Hairpin Matching Systems are a convenient way to match the feed-point of a low-impedance Yagi design to 50 ohms. Then a 1:1 balun fed with 50-ohm coaxial cable may be used for optimal beam antenna performance and cancellation of RFI-causing common mode current. The DX Engineering Yagi Antenna Hairpin Matching Systems are balanced and easy to tune. They feature an upgraded electrical and mechanical design and are easily installed and tuned in as little as 10 minutes. They have enough capacity for almost any HF through 6 meter high performance Yagi design. Depending on your Yagi design, they include all of the hardware items that you need to match your Yagi antenna to a 50 ohm feed line -- without the need for drilling holes. If your Yagi does not have a split driven element (insulated from the boom), you will need to add the proper-size DX Engineering Insulated Boom-to-Element Bracket and DX Engineering Boom-to-Element Bracket Hardware Kit. Depending on the driven element diameter, you may also need DX Engineering Element Adapters. Different models cover most Yagi boom sizes and they are easily installed on the boom and fastened to the Yagi's split driven element with clamps. These same clamps may also be used for the balanced connections to the balun that handles the unbalanced coaxial cable. Hairpin Matching System Background: Many directly-fed Yagi antenna designs for HF and 50 MHz that are optimized for the best gain and front-to-back performance have feed-point impedances of approximately 20 to 25 Ohms, at resonance. Obviously, this will not allow a direct connection to a 50-ohm feedline without a serious mismatch (2:1 or more). There are various ways to match the driven element to the feed-line successfully; Gamma Match, T-Match, and the Hairpin (aka Beta Match) are favorites. The Gamma match is an outdated, unbalanced system that typically distorts the antenna radiation pattern. The T-match is basically two Gamma Match systems on either side of the boom, which may correct the imbalance, but is a mechanical nightmare and is difficult to tune correctly. In a superior-balanced Yagi feed system, the driven element must be insulated from the boom and it must be split at the boom so that the driven element halves are also insulated from each other, like a dipole. A balanced Yagi can make use of a balun for balanced distribution of RF currents and a proper, predictable radiation pattern. While the hairpin has been popular with radio operators for years, DX Engineering Yagi Antenna Hairpin Matching Systems improve on the classic design by using rods that are parallel to the boom. You can quickly match your Yagi antenna by repositioning the boom clamp and shorting bar along the boom and hairpin rods, so the antenna is easier to adjust for minimum SWR than conventional wire-loop hairpins. DX Engineering Yagi Antenna Hairpin Matching Systems also add rigidity, offer better protection against ice and wind, and add a professional appearance. Note: Whenever the DX Engineering "Documentation" tab is available, please look at the associated files for additional product information. Improve your Yagi feed-point matching with DX Engineering Yagi Antenna Hairpin Matching Systems and accessories!
