DX Engineering MBVE-5A Series SAF-T-TILT™ HF Multi-Band Vertical Antennas are 43 ft. tall, high performance, 160 through 10 meter vertical antennas - designed from the ground up to offer ease of use, reliability and performance! The patented* and massive SAF-T-TILT™ 3/8 in. thick rugged aluminum base allows easy, safe tilt action without the unsafe removal of mounting hardware -- as with some competitors' antennas! Like any HF vertical, MBVE-5A verticals require a good ground radial system. 32 radials, 65 feet long are recommended. Fewer or shorter radials will work, but with some diminished results. For proper installation, additional materials are needed, but not supplied. You will need: * Mounting pipe--steel pipe that has 2.0 in. O.D. with 0.25 in. wall thickness, 4 ft. long -- standard 1-1/2 in. galvanized water pipe (with its 1.9 in. OD) is fine * Quick-Set or other concrete for mounting pipe installation * Radial wire and wire lugs--must use 14-gauge, stranded copper wire with PVC insulation. DX Commander Signature 12.4 HF Multi-Band Vertical Antennas
DX Commander Signature 12.4 HF Multi-Band Vertical Antennas are an excellent choice for DX performance and general operations. Efficiently resonant on every HF band of operation, featuring wide SWR bandwidth and low take-off angle, the Signature 12.4 covers the Amateur bands 80 to 6 meters. DX Commander vertical antennas are based on the same principles as a fan dipole, with several vertical wire elements of various resonant lengths connected to a common feedpoint. The wire elements and support ropes are arranged with spacer plates around the non-conductive fiberglass mast. When installed with an appropriate radial system, the Signature 12.4 achieves efficient quarter-wave vertical performance with natural resonance and low SWR on every band, without the need for traps, coils or antenna tuners. Butternut HF6V Vertical Antennas work six bands--80, 40, 30, 20, 15, and 10 meters--with an extremely efficient vertical radiator that's only 26 ft. tall! The HF6V antennas are easy to erect and tune antennas that will last you for many years. The antenna comes with a 1 1/8 in. base insulator and a 1 1/4 in. O.D. x 2 ft. mounting tube for direct placement into the earth or mounting into a standard steel TV mast. An internationally acclaimed antenna design, Butternut HF6V antennas require a complete ground radial system. The antenna comes with a 1 1/8 in. base insulator and a 1 1/4 in. O.D. x 2 ft. mounting tube for direct placement into the earth. Accessory kits for 17, 12 and 6 meters are available. The preferred, "easiest-to-tune", high-performance installation is the ground mounted HF6V, which requires a bare minimum of 12 evenly spread, straight radial wires. Many more radials are better, with double the number (24) of evenly spread radials achieving nearly double the efficiency and signal performance, an effect that tops out at about 60 ground radials. Each radial wire stapled onto the ground or run an inch or so below the soil surface, may be any length from 20 to 45 ft. DX Engineering 80 Meter Full Size Quarter Wave Vertical Antennas, model DXE-7580FS-VA-1, are high performance 68 ft. antennas that are tunable to operate over segments of the entire 75/80 meter band with an SWR of 1.5:1 or less! These antennas are a breakthrough in full size, quarter wave verticals that offer full performance, but don't cost an arm and a leg. Plus, if your neighbors are the slightest bit touchy, these are the antennas for you. Their slim lines can hide in even a small stand of tall trees. COMTEK 20VA 20-10 Meter Vertical Antennas
COMTEK 20VA Vertical Antennas are rugged, yet economical quarter wave antennas designed primarily to be used in sets with phased vertical array systems. They are well suited for Four Square arrays from COMTEK and DX Engineering or any other four-square array systems. These monoband 20VA antennas may be used on any single band from 20 meters through 17, 15, 12, 11 or 10 meters by adjusting the length accordingly. Designed by the people who know all about phasing, these antennas provide precise control of all parameters. These verticals are constructed from 6063-T832 (drawn, not extruded) aircraft-specification aluminum tubing. COMTEK 20VA antennas taper from a large 1.0-in. OD base section to a 3/4-in. OD top section. While they're built to withstand the most rugged environmental conditions, light guying is always recommended for phased systems to keep the spacing precise and minimize swaying. High-strength, UV-resistant EXTREN insulators that won't crack, peel, splinter, or fail will ensure you of years of long-lasting, reliable performance under adverse conditions. Mounting brackets are laser-cut by the latest state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment. Stainless steel hardware is used throughout and the antennas come complete with V-saddle clamps for installation to your ground mounted pipe. Pipe of 2.0-in. DX Engineering DXE-VE-60-2P 60-Meter Monoband Vertical Antennas
DX Engineering DXE-VE-60-2P 60-Meter Monoband Vertical Antennas are high performance, mono-band vertical antenna systems that are easy to assemble, install and adjust. An overall height of about 43 ft. allows these antennas provide full-band 60M coverage with one full quarter wavelength. Since the impedance at resonance of a properly installed quarter wave vertical is less than 50 ohms, the SWR may be optimized with the optional DXE-VMN-1 Matching Network Kit, rather than changing the length in an attempt to find better SWR. Parts included with DXE-VE-60-2P antenna kits are: * DXE-MBVE-5ABASE * DXE-MBVE-5ATOP * DXE-MBVE-5A60MCK (60 meter kit) * Maxi-Core® 20 1:1 Current Choke Balun * DXE-UN-BRKT-5A Balun mounting bracket These ground-mounted antennas will require user-supplied radials, radial plate, radial hardware and ground staples. Radials increase antenna current, sharpen the antenna Q and boost efficiency. Additionally, two DXE-SSVC-2P Saddle clamps are required for antenna mounting. In case you don't want to collect these parts piece meal, all of them are included in the larger DXE-VE-60-2P-RAD 60 Meter Monoband Vertical Antenna kits. The SAF-T-TILT Tilt™ Base, supplied with the DXE-VE-60-2P, allows you to walk the antenna up and down to make tuning changes easily. Designed with 6063 corrosion-resistant aluminum tubing and stainless steel hardware, these antennas are very durable and attractive. With excellent surface appearance, 6063 aluminum alloy is the best alloy for high strength, long-lasting antenna applications. 60 meters is used throughout much of the world as an emergency and search and rescue band. Carrier frequencies from 5.102 through 5.425 MHz are used, with Upper Sideband as the emission mode. Due to limited access and rugged terrain, heavier activity exists in Australia and the State of Alaska. Alaska's emergency channel is 5167.5 USB. Australia has a 60 meter health and welfare net to monitor its citizens traversing the treacherous Outback regions. Amateur Radio operations have also been authorized on 60 meters in many parts of the world. In the USA, five channels are available including 5330.5 kHz, 5346.5 kHz, 5357.0 kHz, 5371.5 kHz, and 5403.5 kHz. These are the frequencies that appear in your transceiver's tuning display when your transceiver is properly set in the USB mode.
