Yaesu G-5500DC Azimuth-Elevation Rotator Systems

Yaesu G-5500DC Azimuth-Elevation Rotator Systems are specially designed to accommodate horizontal cross-booms to mount pairs of VHF and UHF directional antennas for space communications. Providing simultaneous control of 450 degrees of azimuth rotation and 180 degrees of elevation rotation, they are perfect for EME (moon bounce) and satellite communications installations. The G-5500DC dual controller lets you adjust and keep track of both aspects of the antenna system's positioning. The 120 VAC controller includes an interface jack for computer control, supported by the optional GS-232A Computer Controller, as well as many aftermarket control programs and interfaces. These azimuth and elevation rotators are actually two separate motor units, now DC controlled. They may be mounted together on a mast with the included mast bracket, or independently with the azimuth rotator inside a tower and the elevation rotator mounted on the mast above the top of the tower. They handle a total of about 10 sq. ft. of antenna wind load and rotate each way in about one minute. The Yaesu G-5500 AZ-EL clamshell rotator design utilizes 98 heavy 7/16-inch dual-stacked circumferential ball bearings to distribute load over the full diameter of the housing. This design minimizes stress and wear, and practically eliminates the possibility of destructive water entry: there is no shaft hole in the top of the housing. Yaesu's factory-lubricated rotator units are housed in Melamine resin-coated die-cast aluminum intended to provide maintenance-free operation under all climatic conditions. IMPORTANT NOTE: Beginning in 2019 the new Yaesu G-5550DC azimuth and elevation motors operate with two independent 22 V DC control lines, each a five-wire system, using the same connectors at the end of the control cable as the previous models. Both of the new DC motors, azimuth, and elevation, are marked "G-5550DC" at the connector. Be sure to mark your connectors AZ or EL. The rear panel of the controller is titled "G-5500DC" on the serial number label. WARNING: The legacy Yaesu G-5500 Rotator motors and controller used a 26 VAC control voltage, six-wire system. Therefore, old AC controllers are NOT compatible with new DC rotator motors, and new DC controllers are not compatible with old AC rotator motors. All control cable assemblies for all modern Yaesu rotator systems use the same connectors with "1 to 1 pin-out" connector wiring. Therefore, older cable assemblies are compatible with the new Yaesu G-5500DC components, which only use pins 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 in each connector. For control cable runs less than 125 ft. use five-conductor, 20 gauge control cable (5 x 20 AWG). If the rotator cable needs to be longer than 125 ft. then use five-conductor 18 gauge cable (5 x 18 AWG). The input voltage for the G-5500DC controller is labeled "117 VAC" to indicate house current range of 110 to 120 Vac. When you are launching your EME or satellite communications adventure, an azimuth/elevation combination rotator is a vital tool for your antenna system. As durable as they are attractive, Yaesu G-5500DC Azimuth-Elevation Rotator Systems are available from DX Engineering.

Yaesu G-1000DXA Heavy-Duty Rotator Systems

Yaesu G-1000DXA Heavy-Duty Rotator Systems are azimuth positioners designed to rotate large tower-mounted amateur and professional antenna arrays under remote control from the station's operating position. These systems feature attractive compass-dial position indication controllers, with a connector port for optional computer interface for automated directional antenna positioning control. Yaesu's G-1000DXA rotator design utilizes 98 heavy 3/8 in. dual-stacked circumferential ball bearings to distribute load over the full diameter of the housing. This design minimizes stress and wear and practically eliminates the possibility of destructive water entry: There is no shaft hole in the top of the housing. Instead of the usual AC motor drive used in older rotator designs, the G-1000DXA use a variable-voltage DC motor, removing the need for a large starting capacitor with its potential for failure exposed to outside temperature variations. The factory-lubricated rotator unit is housed in melamine resin-coated die-cast aluminum, intended to provide maintenance-free operation under all climatic conditions. A mast alignment gauge on the rotator housing simplifies accurate mechanical alignment during installation. Tower mounted, this model handles over 23 sq. ft. of antenna wind load and over 400 lbs. of vertical mast load. Installation is required for included plug connectors on to the installer supplied 6-conductor control cable; 20 AWG for lengths less than 125 ft. and 18 AWG over 125 ft. Console power is 117 volts AC for units sold in the USA. The handsome desktop controller provides 360 degrees radial indication of actual antenna azimuth bearing. You can select rotation time over 360 degrees from 40 to 100 seconds on the G-1000DXA, and preset a desired heading for the rotator, to which it then turns automatically. The operator may select the stop heading, the compass bearing through which the rotator cannot be turned, which is most convenient for their station location and operation, allowing full rotation through north, south or both, if desired. In any case, 90 degrees overlapping rotation allows rotation through the selected stop heading for 450 degrees of total rotation. These rotators are intended for mounting to an accessory shelf inside a support tower (not supplied), at least 1-meter (40 in.) below the top of the tower. Yaesu rotators have a fine reputation within the Amateur Radio community. When installing a new tower, or replacing an old rotator, consider purchasing a Yaesu G-1000DXA Heavy-Duty Rotator System from DX Engineering.

DX Engineering NCC-2 Receive Antenna Phasing Systems

Imagine adjusting the controls to knock out strong interfering stations or noise—and then being able to copy and log that weak DX station. By successfully combining the right antennas with the advanced phasing capabilities of the NCC-2, this is the operating thrill that every radio enthusiast can enjoy, again and again! DX Engineering NCC-2 Receive Antenna Phasing Systems are variable phasing controllers that combine the 300 kHz- 30MHz received signals from one transmit antenna and one receive antenna, or from two dedicated receive antennas. Combining signals from two stationary antennas physically spaced 1/10 to 1/2 wavelength apart creates an array pattern with signal peaks and dips called nulls. Adjusting the NCC-2 Phase and Balance controls have the effect of electronically rotating or steering that pattern. Steering the null direction to significantly weaken a local or distant interfering signal or noise is known as "Noise Cancelling." This "Noise Cancelling Controller" (NCC-2) can dramatically enhance the reception of weak signals from non-null directions. This "reverse-beam" capability on radio frequencies AM Broadcast through HF can provide amazing benefits for many types of AM DX and SWL receiving and ham radio operating. Work new DX, hear the weak station in casual regional conversations, snag the rare multiplier in contests and hear beyond the noise and interference in dire circumstances. DX Engineering NCC-2 Phasing Systems now feature the built-in RTR Receive-Transmit Interface relay system that expands the exciting benefits of antenna phasing for interference reduction in two ways: * First, the NCC-2 can combine signals from the HF transmit antenna and a separate receive antenna to effectively notch-out strong stations or noise. Almost any Amateur can now enjoy the benefits of antenna phasing and noise-nulling, even those with space limitations for separating the receiving and transmitting antennas. * Second, the user of any standard HF transceiver that lacks a separate receive antenna input can have enhanced reception of noise and signal nulling with the DXE-NCC-2 and two antennas. Rear panel SO-239, F and BNC connectors make the NCC-2 extremely versatile and easy to connect to almost any receiver or HF transceiver up to 200 watts. Redesigned with plug-in modular circuit board sockets, the NCC-2 includes one switched and powered internal slot and two passive internal slots per channel to accommodate these new options: * DXE-RPA-2-PM Receive Preamplifier Plug-In Modules (powered): one per channel for low-signal passive antennas with poor ground conditions * DXE-RG5000HD-PM Receiver Guard 5000HD Plug-In Module (passive): Front-end protection for the NCC-2 and the receiver * DXE-IT-PM 75 to 50 ohm Impedance Transformer Plug-In Module (passive): to match 75 ohm RX ANT feedlines to NCC-2 50 ohm internal impedance * NCC-2 Receive Filter Sets (passive, non-switchable): High Pass, Band Pass and Low Pass Filters for 160, 80, 40 meters typically in stock, with other band filters available individually by special order. EAntenna HEX6B Six Band Hexbeam Antenna

EAntenna HEX6B Six Band Hexbeam is a directional HF antenna for the six Amateur bands 20, 17, 15, 12, 10 and 6 meters. This design follows the ideas of G3TXQ Steve Hunt, the originator of the Broadband version of the Hex Beam antenna. However, this mechanical construction is a version refined by EAntenna with their long-standing antenna engineering experience. The result is an efficient, lightweight portable antenna for the high HF DX bands, which is ideal for use for DXpeditions and vacations. An installation at 20 ft. above the ground can work quite well, but a tower-mounted Hexbeam at a height of 35 to 60 ft. is known to perform as intended and produce excellent DX results. The HEX6B works as two element beam on each band. Ready-to-use wires and ropes are attached to the fiberglass struts and due to the mechanical tension of the struts, the beam is stretched to its fixed size all the time, so there is no sag on the wires. The radiator dipoles are connected to the vertical center support, with each band wire element attaching with screw clamps. The center support is designed as a coaxial transformer and balun, providing a particularly good match on each band, with one feedline for all six bands. The HEX6B forward gain is approximately 3dBD or better, the front/back ratio is between 13 and 22dB. SWR is 1.5:1 or better on all bands except 10m, where SWR is 2:1 or better. Each band can be used in full bandwidth without a tuner. The maximum allowed power is 5 kW. The fiberglass tubes are double coated against UV radiation. The setup of the HEX6B six band beam is simple and can be done by one person in about 30 minutes. All ropes and wires are ready, cut to length, so no tuning is required. Due to the low weight of only 18.7 lbs. (8.2 kg) this hex beam can be installed on a light aluminum push-up mast. Rotation is either done with a small rotator or by hand. The HEX6B mast clamp accommodates poles with a Diameter from 1.10 -2.05 in. (28-52mm).

Palstar AT2K 2000 Watt Antenna Tuners

Palstar AT2K 2000 Watt Antenna Tuners are the upgrade to the classic AT1500CV tuner, featuring a newly designed, smaller roller inductor, which allows the AT2K to tune 6 Meters. Newly designed capacitors with lower minimum capacitance improve high band performance, while maximum capacitance has been increased to 400pF for better low band performance. The AT2K features a 6 position antenna selector switch. In addition, the Peak/Peak Hold metering from the PM2000A has been incorporated into the AT2K. Forward power metering is in two ranges, 300 and 3,000 watts. Standing Wave Ratio measurements are displayed with this illuminated cross-needle meter. SWR is read directly from the meter face where the Forward and Reverse needles cross. The AT2K matches dipoles, center fed doublets, Verticals, end-fed wire, delta loops, beams, Windoms, Inverted Vees, and many more antenna types. With a chassis made of 11 ga. (.090 in. thick), iridite-treated aluminum, and a durable powdercoated finish on the front panel and top cover, you can have a tuner that will grace your shack for years to come. Diex Antennas Multi-Band Trap Shortened Rigid Rotatable Dipoles

Diex Antennas Multi-Band Trap Shortened Rigid Rotatable Dipoles offer high performance multi-band HF operations, and they are an excellent choice where there's not enough space for a full-size dipole or Yagi. Crafted with precision in Brazil using quality materials, these aluminum tubing antennas are designed to withstand tough environments assuring long-lasting, exceptional performance. They are packed partially assembled, saving valuable time and effort. Typically mounted on a rotating mast, these unique multi-band HF antennas provide high-band directionality depending upon installed height above ground. Given the nature of shortened low-band antennas with limited SWR bandwidth, these antennas feature the flexibility of physical adjustment to set the lowest SWR to a specific frequency. DIEX Antennas Multi-Band Trap Shortened Rigid Rotatable Dipoles power handling is 1500W PEP SSB, which is further limited if using an antenna tuner. NOTE: Diex Antennas recommends that a directional HF antenna should be mounted on a tower at a minimum height of 33 to 50 ft. (10 - 15 meters) above ground level and must be installed in the clear, away from power lines, trees, buildings or other towers and antennas.
