You will enjoy an improvement in performance on your vertical antenna with the added convenience and efficiency of remote automatic tuning operation from 80 through 10 meters. Many Upgrade Kits include the automatic tuner, while some Upgrade Kits have all of the same parts, but without the tuner for those who already own the tuner. Your upgrade adds DX Engineering's exclusive new automatic antenna tuner mounting brackets that secure the tuner above the tilt base, well above the ground, for easy installation and access, away from potential damage by water and animals.

Like any HF vertical, upgrading your MBVE-1 vertical does require a good ground radial system. We highly recommend installing 32 radials, 65 ft. long are recommended. Fewer or shorter radials will work, but with some diminished results. A great ground-mounted vertical has the available space covered with 20 or more evenly spaced radials, each of any length from 15 to 65 ft. Do the work and you'll work the world! ™
