DX Engineering PRO-STACK Broadband Antenna Phasing Switches

DX Engineering PRO-STACK Broadband Antenna Phasing Switches are newly designed to combine two identical Yagi or log periodic beams, or three quarter-wave vertical antennas, into a phased array for enhanced operation. There is no need for coaxial delay lines with the DX Engineering PRO-STACK switches. Just connect your antennas to the phasing switch controller with equal-length 50 ohm lines. PRO-STACK switch units are available with high-quality PTFE-silver plated SO-239 (UHF female) connectors. These relay units are 1-of-3 source voltage controlled at 12-15VDC over a four conductor cable. A matching Control Console is available separately or is included in the PRO-STACK System. These phasing switches can be used for any applications that require the following four basic antenna feed selections: both antenna ports in-phase, both antenna ports out-of-phase, antenna port 1 only, and antenna port 2 only. The default is both output ports in-phase. Impedance matching automatically changes when any antenna port is disconnected. Generally, stacked Yagi antennas are separated vertically greater than 1/2-wavelength free space. Since the DX Engineering PRO-STACK Broadband Antenna Phasing Systems are broadband, they may be easily adapted to larger arrays. For example, four stacked Yagis may be combined by creating two sets of two, and then using a third DX Engineering control console to combine the first two sets. PRO-STACK switches can also be used to feed three quarter wave resonant vertical antennas for a high-gain 4-pattern array. In this arrangement, the center #2 passive element is directly grounded to a good ground radial system at all times, while the end elements #1 and #3 are then fed in various phase relationships by the PRO-STACK. Details are in the complete PRO-STACK PS-2B Instruction Manual linked here in Documentation. Features of the DX Engineering PRO-STACK Broadband Antenna Phasing Switches include these great features: * Power handling up to 5 kW * Broadband coverage on 160-10 meters * High-impact RF shielded weatherproof housing * High-RF tolerant, silver-PTFE SO-239 (UHF female) connectors * Proven DX Engineering RF relays for high performance * Safe 12 VDC relay operation, even on battery or solar power * MOV surge protection on control lines * External, removable control line connector * RoHS-compliant assembly

DX Engineering PS-3B PRO-STACK Three Antenna Phasing Units

DX Engineering PS-3B PRO-STACK Three Antenna Phasing Units offer the ultimate performance for combining three identical Yagi or Log Periodic directional antennas and may be used for vertical antennas in a phased array that cover any band, from 160 through 10 meters. Pro-Stack frequency independent broadband phasing devices operate optimally with three properly spaced mono-band antennas, but can be used with three identical stacked multi-band beam antennas, for pattern and null steering that wins contests and snags the rarest DX! Signals arrive at your antenna system from different azimuth directions and different elevation angles. Adding a stacking phasing system to a rotational array adds the ability to steer the pattern of the antenna array in two planes, azimuth and elevation, and to move the major lobe and nulls. The greatest advantage of Pro-Stack arrays is the ability to move harmful pattern nulls away from signal arrival angles. While gain makes a marginal improvement, moving a 20 to 40 dB null can be a phenomenal change, so the Pro-Stack can make the difference between a barely readable and a strong signal, providing the performance edge needed to work rare DX - and win contests. DXE-PS-3B Pro-Stack Phasing Units are 50 ohm relay systems that handle up to 5 kW. A separate user-supplied automated controller or the optional DX Engineering DXE-EC-PS3 Control Console for these 12-position rotary switch selections: - Three antenna ports in phase, default with no power to control console. - Antenna port 1 only - Antenna port 2 only - Antenna port 3 only - Port 2 out of phase, Port 3 in phase - Port 1 out of phase, Port 3 in phase - Port 1 out of phase, Port 2 in phase - Ports 2 and 3 in phase - Ports 1 and 3 in phase - Ports 1 and 2 in phase - Ports 1 and 2 in phase, Port 3 out of phase - Ports 1 and 3 in phase, Port 2 out of phase - Port 1 out of phase, Ports 2 and 3 in phase These PRO-STACK units may also be used for other applications requiring these feedline selections. To ensure lowest SWR, impedance matching automatically changes when any antenna is disabled. By switching between antennas at different heights above ground and/or changing the phase relationship between multiple antennas. The old standard system in stacks was to activate or disable specific antennas in the stack to change pattern. However, with the Pro-Stack system, gain remains higher when all antennas are driven and phase is changed, plus this system allows phase inversion as well as the ability to switch any single antenna out of the array. DXE-PS-3B Broadband Phasing Units provide the greatest flexibility for three identical antennas. This relay unit contains a broad-bandwidth high-power 2:1 impedance matching transformer. This eliminates common requirements of using mixtures of 75 ohm and 50 ohm phasing or delay cables for impedance matching. Feedlines to each antenna from the relay unit must be the same cable of the same length and match the antenna impedance. DXE-PS-3B Pro-Stack Broadband Three Antenna Phasing Units feature: - Power Handling up to 5 kW - Broad band coverage on 160-10 meters - RF Shielded Weatherproof Housing - unique protection - DXE-PS-3B has High-RF tolerant, silver - PTFE UHF connectors - DXE-PS-3BDIN has Amphenol Connex 7/16 DIN Panel Connectors - DXE-PS-3BN-P are made with high-quality silver-PTFE Type N female connectors - Proven high current DX Engineering RF Relays - Safe 12 volt dc relay operation - MOV surge protection on control lines - RoHS compliant assembly Get a DX Engineering PS-3B PRO-STACK Three Antenna Phasing System for your winning antenna array.

DX Engineering PS-3B PRO-STACK Three Antenna Phasing System

Dominate the airwaves with a DX Engineering PS-3B PRO-STACK Three Antenna Phasing System. Achieve ultimate array control and performance with three identical Yagi or Log Periodic directional antennas or use the system for vertical antennas in a phased array. DXE-PS-3B Pro-Stack Units are frequency independent broadband phasing devices that operate with three antennas on any bands, from 160 through 10 meters. Select from twelve combinations of in-phase and out-of-phase for pattern and null steering that wins contests and snags the rarest DX! DXE-PS-3B-P PRO-STACK Three Antenna Phasing Systems consist of one DXE-PS-3B Relay Unit and one DXE-EC-PS3 Control Console with manual 12-position rotary switch. This advanced system requires only 9-conductor control cable and standard 50-ohm feedlines of equal lengths to each antenna. DXE-PS-3B Pro-Stack Broadband Three Antenna Phasing Systems offer these compelling features: - Power Handling up to 5 kW - Broad band coverage on 160-10 meters - RF Shielded Weatherproof Housing - unique protection - DXE-PS-3B has High-RF tolerant, silver - PTFE SO-239 (UHF female) connectors - DXE-PS-3BN-P are high-quality silver-PTFE Type N female connectors - DXE-PS-3BDIN has Amphenol Connex 7-16 DIN Panel Connectors - Proven high current DX Engineering RF Relays - Safe 12 volt DC relay operation - MOV surge protection on control lines - RoHS compliant assembly DXE-PS-3B Broadband Phasing Units provide the greatest flexibility for three identical antennas. So all of them need only be as long as the longest, to reach from the antennas to the relay unit. While it is best to have feedlines of equal electrical lengths, there is no need to closely phase-match cables; cutting the antenna feedlines made from the same coax to equal physical lengths is sufficient. Signals arrive at your antenna system from different azimuth directions and different elevation angles. Adding a stacking phasing system to a rotational array adds the ability to steer the pattern of the antenna array in two planes, azimuth and elevation, and to move the major lobe and nulls. This is accomplished by switching between three identical antennas that are properly spaced for phasing, as well as changing the phase relationship between the antennas to effect changes in the null positons of their elevation patterns. The greatest advantage of equipping your array with a DX Engineering Pro-Stack is the ability to move debilitating pattern nulls away from signal arrival angles. While gain makes a marginal improvement, moving a 20 to 40 dB null can make a phenomenal change in reception. So, the Pro-Stack can make the difference between a barely readable and a strong signal, thus providing the performance edge needed to work rare DX - and win contests. Yaesu G-800DXA Medium Heavy-Duty Rotator Systems

Yaesu G-800DXA Medium Heavy-Duty Rotator Systems are azimuth positioners designed to rotate large tower-mounted amateur and professional antenna arrays under remote control from the station's operating position. These systems feature attractive compass-dial position indication controllers, with a connector port for optional computer interface for automated directional antenna positioning control. Yaesu's G-800DXA rotator design utilizes 98 heavy 3/8 in. dual-stacked circumferential ball bearings to distribute load over the full diameter of the housing. This design minimizes stress and wear and practically eliminates the possibility of destructive water entry: There is no shaft hole in the top of the housing. Instead of the usual AC motor drive used in older rotator designs, the G-800DXA use a variable-voltage DC motor, removing the need for a large starting capacitor with its potential for failure exposed to outside temperature variations. The factory-lubricated rotator unit is housed in melamine resin-coated die-cast aluminum, intended to provide maintenance-free operation under all climatic conditions. A mast alignment gauge on the rotator housing simplifies accurate mechanical alignment during installation. Tower mounted, this model handles over 20 sq. ft. of antenna wind load and over 400 lbs. of vertical mast load. Installation is required for included plug connectors on to the installer supplied 6-conductor control cable; 20 AWG for lengths less than 125 ft. and 18 AWG over 125 ft. Console power is 117 volts AC for units sold in the USA. The handsome desktop controller provides 360 degrees radial indication of actual antenna azimuth bearing. You can select rotation time over 360 degrees from 40 to 100 seconds on the G-800DXA, and preset a desired heading for the rotator, to which it then turns automatically. The operator may select the stop heading, the compass bearing through which the rotator cannot be turned, which is most convenient for their station location and operation, allowing full rotation through north, south or both, if desired. In any case, 90 degrees overlapping rotation allows rotation through the selected stop heading for 450 degrees of total rotation. These rotators are intended for mounting to an accessory shelf inside a support tower (not supplied), at least 1-meter (40 in.) below the top of the tower. Yaesu rotators have a fine reputation within the Amateur Radio community. When installing a new tower, or replacing an old rotator, consider purchasing a Yaesu G-800DXA Medium Heavy-Duty Rotator System from DX Engineering.

Yaesu G-450ADC Medium-Duty Rotator Systems

Yaesu G-450ADC Medium-Duty Rotator Systems are the entry-level rotator and controller that are perfect for small HF beams, a tri-bander or VHF and UHF antennas up to about 10 sq. ft. of tower-mounted wind load. A lesser wind load of about 5 sq. ft. can be handled when mounting the G-450ADC on top of a mast with the optional lower mast bracket, GC-038. Rotate Amateur and professional antennas with the Yaesu's handsome 120 Vac desktop remote control console, featuring a compass-style indicator at the station operating position. The G-450ADC rotator system provides 450 degrees of azimuth rotation in just over one minute. The rotator handles masts of 1.25 to 2.48 in. outside diameter and, when tower mounted, a total vertical mast load up to 200 lbs. In the Yaesu G-450ADC, the clamshell rotator design utilizes 98 heavy 7/16-inch dual-stacked circumferential ball bearings to distribute load over the full diameter of the housing. This design minimizes stress and wear, and practically eliminates the possibility of destructive water entry: there is no shaft hole in the top of the housing. Yaesu's factory-lubricated rotator units are housed in Melamine resin-coated die-cast aluminum intended to provide maintenance-free operation under all climatic conditions. IMPORTANT NOTE: Beginning in 2019 the new Yaesu G-450ADC Rotator motors and controllers operate with a 20 V DC control voltage, four-wire system, using the provided connectors to be installed at each end of the user supplied control cable, same as the previous models. For clarity, the new DC rotator motors are marked "G-450DC" at the connector. The rear panel of the controller is titled "G-450ADC" on the serial number label. WARNING: The legacy Yaesu G-450A Rotator motors and controllers used a 26 VAC control voltage, five-wire system. Therefore, old AC controllers are NOT compatible with new DC rotator motors, and new DC controllers are not compatible with old AC rotator motors. All control cable assemblies for all modern Yaesu rotator systems use the same connectors with "1 to 1 pin-out" connector wiring. Therefore, older cable assemblies are compatible with the new Yaesu G-450ADC components, which only use pins 2, 3, 4 and 5 in each connector. For control cable runs less than 125 ft. use four-conductor, 20 gauge control cable (4 x 20 AWG). If the rotator cable needs to be longer than 125 ft., then use four-conductor 18 gauge cable (4 x 18 AWG). The input voltage for the G-450ADC controller is labeled "117 VAC" to indicate house current of 110 to 120 Vac. When you need a medium-duty rotator system, which is durable and attractive, order a new Yaesu G-450ADC Medium-Duty Rotator System from DX Engineering.

Yaesu G-2800DXA Extra Heavy-Duty Rotator Systems

Yaesu G-2800DXA Extra Heavy-Duty Rotator Systems are azimuth positioners designed to rotate large tower-mounted amateur and professional antenna arrays under remote control from the station's operating position. These systems feature attractive compass-dial position indication controllers, with a connector port for optional computer interface for automated directional antenna positioning control. Yaesu's G-2800DXA rotator design utilizes 98 heavy 3/8 in. dual-stacked circumferential ball bearings to distribute load over the full diameter of the housing. This design minimizes stress and wear and practically eliminates the possibility of destructive water entry: There is no shaft hole in the top of the housing. Instead of the usual AC motor drive used in older rotator designs, the G-2800DXA, G-1000DXA and G-800DXA use a variable-voltage DC motor, removing the need for a large starting capacitor with its potential for failure exposed to outside temperature variations. The factory-lubricated rotator unit is housed in melamine resin-coated die-cast aluminum, intended to provide maintenance-free operation under all climatic conditions. A mast alignment gauge on the rotator housing simplifies accurate mechanical alignment during installation. Tower mounted, this model handles over 30 sq. ft. of antenna wind load and over 650 lbs. of vertical mast load. About 130 ft. of control cable is included with the G-2800DXA only. Control console power is 110/120 volts AC. The handsome desktop controller provides 360 degrees radial indication of actual antenna azimuth bearing. You can select rotation time over 360 degrees from 50 to 120 seconds on the G-2800DXA, and preset a desired heading for the rotator, to which it then turns automatically. When a fast rotation speed is selected, special "auto slow-start" and "auto slow-stop" features avoid sharp jolts to the antenna array and tower. Activating the rotator causes it to begin turning at slow, but increasing, speed. As the antenna approaches the desired heading, the rotation automatically slows down, before bringing the antenna to a gentle stop. They handle a total of about 10 sq. ft. of antenna wind load and rotate each way in about one minute. The Yaesu G-5500 AZ-EL clamshell rotator design utilizes 98 heavy 7/16-inch dual-stacked circumferential ball bearings to distribute load over the full diameter of the housing. IMPORTANT NOTE: Beginning in 2019 the new Yaesu G-5550DC azimuth and elevation motors operate with two independent 22 V DC control lines, each a five-wire system, using the same connectors at the end of the control cable as the previous models. Both of the new DC motors, azimuth, and elevation, are marked "G-5550DC" at the connector. Be sure to mark your connectors AZ or EL. The rear panel of the controller is titled "G-5500DC" on the serial number label. WARNING: The legacy Yaesu G-5500 Rotator motors and controller used a 26 VAC control voltage, six-wire system. Therefore, old AC controllers are NOT compatible with new DC rotator motors, and new DC controllers are not compatible with old AC rotator motors. All control cable assemblies for all modern Yaesu rotator systems use the same connectors with "1 to 1 pin-out" connector wiring. Therefore, older cable assemblies are compatible with the new Yaesu G-5500DC components, which only use pins 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 in each connector. For control cable runs less than 125 ft. use five-conductor, 20 gauge control cable (5 x 20 AWG). If the rotator cable needs to be longer than 125 ft. then use five-conductor 18 gauge cable (5 x 18 AWG). The input voltage for the G-5500DC controller is labeled "117 VAC" to indicate house current range of 110 to 120 Vac. When you are launching your EME or satellite communications adventure, an azimuth/elevation combination rotator is a vital tool for your antenna system. As durable as they are attractive, Yaesu G-5500DC Azimuth-Elevation Rotator Systems are available from DX Engineering.

Yaesu G-1000DXA Heavy-Duty Rotator Systems

Yaesu G-1000DXA Heavy-Duty Rotator Systems are azimuth positioners designed to rotate large tower-mounted amateur and professional antenna arrays under remote control from the station's operating position. These systems feature attractive compass-dial position indication controllers, with a connector port for optional computer interface for automated directional antenna positioning control. Yaesu's G-1000DXA rotator design utilizes 98 heavy 3/8 in. dual-stacked circumferential ball bearings to distribute load over the full diameter of the housing. This design minimizes stress and wear and practically eliminates the possibility of destructive water entry: There is no shaft hole in the top of the housing. Instead of the usual AC motor drive used in older rotator designs, the G-1000DXA use a variable-voltage DC motor, removing the need for a large starting capacitor with its potential for failure exposed to outside temperature variations. The factory-lubricated rotator unit is housed in melamine resin-coated die-cast aluminum, intended to provide maintenance-free operation under all climatic conditions. A mast alignment gauge on the rotator housing simplifies accurate mechanical alignment during installation. Tower mounted, this model handles over 23 sq. ft. of antenna wind load and over 400 lbs. of vertical mast load. You can select rotation time over 360 degrees from 40 to 100 seconds on the G-1000DXA, and preset a desired heading for the rotator, to which it then turns automatically. When installing a new tower, or replacing an old rotator, consider purchasing a Yaesu G-1000DXA Heavy-Duty Rotator System from DX Engineering.

DX Engineering Aluminum Tubing

DX Engineering High-Strength Aluminum Tubes are ideal for your antenna building projects. It is made available in sizes that fit into and over the next, with close tolerances specifically designed for strength when joined and overlapping only by a few to several inches, to build Yagi, Moxon or vertical antenna elements. NOTE: This tubing is NOT intended for each size to telescope completely into the full length of the next; it cannot be used for telescopic mast building. DX Engineering aluminum tubing is manufactured to very close tolerances. This provides the greatest amount of surface contact between nesting tubes for mechanical and electrical stability. Due to the close tolerance, any burrs, dirt, grit or other foreign material, as well as dents, dings and unseen bending or crushing suffered during shipment will cause binding that prevents this aluminum tubing from fully nesting. 6063-T832 seamless drawn aluminum tubing is available in 3, 6 and 12 ft. lengths. 6063-T832 tubing provides good resistance to general corrosion, including stress corrosion cracking, and an excellent surface appearance. Use a series of 3 ft. lengths to build an element that tapers more quickly for lower wind-resistance applications. Use a series of 6 ft. lengths to make an element that tapers more slowly for greater strength and bandwidth. The 12 ft. lengths are great for HF Yagi construction. Most sizes (except 12 ft.) are available slit on one end for use with DX Engineering stainless steel element clamps. If un-slit ends are required for your applications, merely insert the slit end into the next larger size in the stack and use your own attachment method. 6063-T832 tubing features a 0.058 in. wall thickness and is available in 1/8 in. increments from 3/8 in. to 2-1/8 in. O.D. 3003-H14 drawn aluminum tubing features a 0.035 inch wall thickness and a 1/4 inch outside diameter. Each piece is supplied with non slit ends and is available in both 3 foot and 6 foot lengths, making them ideal for your antenna building projects. If your setup requires maximum strength at very long assembly lengths, then choose DX Engineering 6061-T8 tubing. This heavy-duty version features a 0.120 in. wall thickness and is available in 1/4 in. increments from 1-1/2 in. to 3 in. O.D. Packaged shipments of 6 ft. tubing have oversize shipping fees, regardless of the number of 6 ft. pieces. Therefore, order more 6 ft. pieces to spread oversize fees over more tubing for a more cost effective shipment. Tubing that is 12 ft. long MUST be shipped by truck freight. If you need many pieces of the same size in a 12 ft. tube length, then buying DX Engineering High-Strength Aluminum Tubing Bundles (elsewhere in our catalog) maximizes the economy of scale for your shipping costs. M2 Antennas HO LOOP Antennas

M2 Antennas HO LOOP Antennas provide easy SSB, CW and Digital communications out to 200 miles or more. These are great VHF and UHF antennas for the new operator just getting started in either mobile or base weak signal operations. HO LOOP Antennas are the right choice for any operator who wants the convenience of omnidirectional coverage, with the correct polarization, without investing in a rotator and support that is required for Yagi antennas. HO LOOPs transmit and receive horizontally polarized signals that are required for weak signal operation, where verticals are not effective. Horizontal polarity permits HO LOOPs to add upwards of 5dB of ground gain that verticals cannot. As with most horizontally polarized antennas, performance improves dramatically with height above ground, especially on VHF and UHF bands. Physically, the HO LOOP Antennas are square, fabricated from two 3/8 in. diameter aluminum tubes to minimize losses. Their sealed feed block provides weather protection with minimum wind drag. The heart of this unique design is the shorted stub matching to a 50 ohm coaxial feedline. They are lightweight and have very low wind area, which makes them ideal for stacking in base or mobile operations. Mounting is via a single 3/8 in. hole that is standard for most mobile hardware, with optional mounting hardware available for base* or mobile installations, as shown. Minimum vehicle mounting height and stacking separation dimensions are displayed in the details for each HO LOOP. Gain figures appear below and in their Instruction Manuals. *NOTE: Mounting of HO-LOOPS on a 1-1/4 to 2 inch mast for base operations requires the optional MSQ-MASTBRKTKIT. Enjoy the thrill of VHF and UHF weak signal operations with M2 Antennas HO LOOP Antennas from DX Engineering! Gain figures for each loop at specific heights above ground for mobile operations. However, loop installations for base operations should be as high above ground as possible, just as though it were a beam (but no rotator required). 50 MHz Gain: Single HO Loop at 11 ft. is 4.2 dBd at 25 deg.; Stack of 2 HO Loops at 40 ft. and 52 ft. is 8.2 dBd at 6 deg. 144 MHz Gain: Single HO Loop at 10 ft. is 4.0 dBd at10 deg.; Stack of 2 HO Loops at 82 in. and 132 in. is 8 dBd at 9 deg. 222 MHz Gain: Single HO Loop at 84 in. is 4.7 dBd at 7 deg.; Stack of 2 HO Loops at 84 in. and 117 in. is 8.2 dBd at 7 deg. 432 MHz Gain: Single HO Loop at 86 in. is 5.0 dBd at 4 deg.; Stack of 2 HO Loops at 84 in. and 100 in. is 8.8 dBd at 4 deg.
