This is the base of one of my 80 meter DXE verticals (4 square). There is 10,500 ft of nu 14 solid cu wire, DXE phasing lines and master control are being used. This photo is to illustrate an addition of a hardened lock in place of one of the bolts in order to keep the vertical from dropping should the other bolts come off. The directional changes are made by using the Green Heron system. It saved running over 500 ft of CAT5 cable. A combination of Andrews hardline and DXE RG 213 is being used too. The antenna/ground wires were installed as in the EXCELLENT directions included with the DXE materials (available online). **One other comment, the BEST purchase was the DXE Winch! It saved countless minutes raising and lowering the antennas to make adjustments! AND it is easily moved from one vertical to the next. THIS SAVES time and grief, I was using a good sized tractor to pull up and let the verticals down...the winch is a much BETTER option. It aligned the verticals due to its physical position on top of the vertical support brackets.
