Using a COMTEK 40VA 40 Meter Vertical Antenna (Part #COM-40VA) constructed an elevated ground radial full size 40 meter vertical. Location was not suitable for ground mounted radial system. Base of antenna is about 3 meters off the ground and design should provide almost similar performance to ground radial system with a larger number of radials. Used in CQ WW RTTY contest in late September 2013 and due to substantial multipliers worked on 40 meters was able to claim 2nd highest low power score ever from Alaska. Next season will have to get a 2nd one and a switching system to phase them into an array.
