DX Engineering is Now the Exclusive North American Distributor of SOTAbeams Amateur Radio Products

Based in the United Kingdom, SOTAbeams makes telecommunications products tailored specifically to the Ham Radio community. Now, in an exclusive arrangement, Amateur Radio enthusiasts in North America can purchase SOTAbeams gear from DX Engineering. That means radio operators will be able to get SOTAbeams antennas, filters, and testing tools without lengthy delays or complicated international shipping. 

DX Engineering will carry several SOTAbeams products, including its popular WSPRlite Antenna Performance Analysis System. The WSPRlite is a specialized test beacon that uses WSPR technology to transmit to a worldwide network of receiving stations. It works with SOTAbeams’ proprietary software to give operators real-time feedback on their radio station’s antenna performance. Much more advanced than simple antenna analyzers, WSPRlite displays a transmit signal’s geographical range as well as received power on an easy-to-read propagation map.

WSPRlite is entirely self-contained, powered by a micro USB port. A single SMA connector output can be easily adapted with an optional PL-259 or BNC adapter cable. In stock configuration, it covers the 20 and 30 meter bands and has an adjustable output from 5-200mW. The WSPRlite system requires a PC running SOTAbeams’ DXplorer software. The system includes a free, one-year subscription to DXplorer Premium, WSPRlite’s web-based reporting dashboard.

To add 160, 80 and 40 meter capabilities to the WSPRlite System, DX Engineering also carries SOTAbeams’ optional Low Pass Filter kit. The simple-to-build kit features selectable low-bass filters for 7 MHz, 3.7 MHz and 1.8 MHz. A pre-wired coax tail permits easy integration with the WSPRlite transmitter.
