DX Engineering Salutes 3B7A St. Brandon…Looks Ahead to KH1/KH7Z Baker Island

DX Engineering congratulates the 3B7A St. Brandon 2018 team on their recently completed DXpedition which ran from early to mid-April. Operating in CW, SSB, and RTTY from the Indian Ocean archipelago, eight experienced crew members made more than 70,000 QSOs, enabling many DXers to log an ATNO (All-Time New One) in their attempt to work the world. Prior to the DXpedition, Agalega and Saint Brandon Islands ranked as the 28th most-wanted DXCC entity.

To ensure a successful DXpedition to St. Brandon--the first in more than a decade--the 3B7A team chose a range of high-quality gear, including DX Engineering branded Reversible Beverage Systems. Further, two phased 80 meter verticals were built on DX Engineering’s DVA-80 Dual Vertical Array System, which includes a phasing relay unit and directional control console.

With the completion of the St. Brandon 2018 DXpedition, many DXers, including the Hams at DX Engineering, will be turning their attention to the KH1/KH7Z Baker Island 2018 DXpedition scheduled for June. Baker and Howland Islands currently stand as the sixth most-wanted DXCC entity. The Baker Island team will be relying on gear from DX Engineering and other providers for this highly anticipated venture.

“This will be another great opportunity for DXers to log one of the rare ones,” said Tim Duffy, K3LR, DX Engineering’s Chief Operating Officer. “We’re very excited to have our equipment helping the Baker Island team. And we’ll be equally excited to join everyone in the pile-ups!”
