BD Diesel Positive Air Shutdown Valves Now Available at Summit Racing Equipment
The best way to shut down a diesel engine in an emergency situation is to cut off its air supply. A BD Diesel Positive Air Shutdown Valve is the easy-to-install solution.
What They Are: BD Diesel Positive Air Shutdown Valves
Why They’re Cool: Safely shut down an overspeeding engine. The BD Diesel shutdown valve is basically an inline butterfly valve that sits in the engine’s air intake. When you hit the switch or the optional electronic module senses an overspeeding condition, an electric solenoid shuts the valve, cutting off the engine’s air supply and shutting down fuel ignition within seconds. BD Diesel’s exclusive locking lever prevents valve closures due to vibration.
The butterfly valve design is compact, adding just six inches in length and three inches of height to the air intake tract. Installation is simple thanks to the innovative bead boot locks that require no welding. Boots and clamps are included.
Applications: Available for 1998-2012 GM, Ford, and Dodge diesel trucks to fit 2 1/2 inch, 3 inch, 3 1/2 inch, and 4 inch diameter air intake systems.

Other Stuff Worth Knowing: Need a fuel injection pump that can support up to 750 horsepower in a 2003-07 Dodge Cummins? Summit Racing has BD Diesel’s CP3 Injection Pump that can maintain a constant 24,000 psi of fuel rail pressure, reducing fuel spikes and exhaust temperatures.
