Beat the Heat in Your LS-Swapped Ride with a Griffin Performance Fit or Universal Fit Radiator

One of the biggest headaches with any engine swap is trying to find a radiator with the proper inlet and outlet positions to match the engine. This is especially true when swapping a GM LS engine into your whip. Not only do you have to match the hose hookups, you need to take the factory steam port system into consideration. Nobody wants steam from inside the engine chewing through their head gaskets like a puppy through an unattended bag of kibble.

Griffin Performance Fit and Universal Fit Radiators and Radiator/Fan Combos have all these kinks worked out and then some.

For starters, the inlet and outlets are on the passenger side to match up directly to LS water pumps. The lightweight aluminum core features Griffin’s Dual-Pass flow system that routes the coolant through the core twice, maximizing heat dissipation. The 1.25-inch diameter MEGACOOL™ tubing delivers extra cooling capacity, and open fin spacing increases airflow through the core and helps eliminate clogging.

Finally, an integrated port provision allows you to connect the OEM steam port system without having to tap into the water pump or splice into the hoses. The trapped air and steam inside the cylinder heads are properly released, hot spots and gasket failure issues are eliminated, and your engine’s cooling system functions as GM intended.

Griffin offers two styles of LS swap radiators:

Universal Fit Radiators are ideal for custom installations. They provide the greatest flexibility and do require some degree of fabrication for mounting. Dimensions are listed with each radiator so you can choose the best fitting one for your application.

Performance Fit Radiators are designed to mount in vehicles with minimal modifications like modifying brackets, trimming the factory fan shroud, or other minor adjustments. They are available for the following vehicles:

Griffin even went to the trouble of creating Radiator/Fan Combos for both radiator styles, making it even easier to drop a superior cooling solution into your car. The combos include a SPAL dual electric fan assembly and hand-formed aluminum shroud that maximizes surface area for better heat transfer plus a temperature sensor and wiring harness. Performance Fit Radiator/Fan Combos also come with a radiator cap.
