One of the last things you probably think about when buying a crate engine is what kind of mufflers you will use. But the type of muffler you use is important—you want one that will improve airflow and effectively scavenge exhaust gasses from the engine, which helps improve engine breathing and free up some horsepower.

Fortunately, Summit Racing now offers Borla CrateMufflers. These directional mufflers are tuned to optimize the performance and sound characteristics of factory and aftermarket crate engines, right down to the case shape, core style, and packing material. CrateMufflers are made from aircraft-grade T-304 stainless steel and feature unique endplate brackets for use with Borla’s removable hanger kit (sold separately).

Borla even has a handy selection chart on its website to make it easy to find the right CrateMuffler for your application:

• Select engine type
• Select inlet/outlet style and diameter
