Build a Better First-Gen Bronco with Summit Racing

You know what else is awesome? The old Bronco that’s sitting in your garage or on your ‘next project’ list. Let’s start with the 1966-77 Bronco, which is arguably the most sought-after version:

Skyjacker Lift Kits
Skyjacker Lift Kits provide the clearance you need to fit bigger tires and more suspension flex off-road without a kidney-pounding ride. We recommend finishing your lift with a set of Skyjacker Hydro Shocks.

Lift and Tire Size
• 4.5” front/5” rear, accepts 36” tire
• 5” front/rear, accepts 36” tire
• 2” front/3” rear for tires up to 33”
• 7” front/6.5” rear, accepts 37” tire
• 9” front/rear, accepts 40” tire

Prothane Bushings
A set of Prothane urethane bushings will improve your Bronco’s handling and ride quality. You 4WD Bronco owners should definitely take a look at the Transfer Case Bushing Kit. It will prevent excessive case movement which can cause driveshaft misalignment and possible transfer case damage.

Borgeson Power Steering Conversion Kit
Convert your V8-equipped Bronco to power steering with this Borgeson kit. It includes a remanufactured steering box, power steering pump, universal joint, bracket and pulley, and hoses. The kit requires no welding and will give your arms a much-needed rest.

Powertrax Differentials and Lockers
Powertrax has the differential or locker you need to take your Bronco four-wheeling. Take your choice of the Pro-Grip limited slip differential, the classic Lock-Right ‘lunchbox’ and No-Slip lockers, and the Grip-Lock mechanical locking differential.

Leed Disc Brake Conversions
First-gen Broncos didn’t get front disc brakes until 1976, so chances are yours has fade-prone drums. We offer Leed Brakes front disc brake conversions in your choice of power or manual versions, plus master cylinder/booster kits to convert manual drums to power.

MagnaFlow MF Series Exhaust System
Give your V8-powered Bronco a true dual exhaust system with this MagnaFlow MF Series kit. The stainless steel system has 2.5 inch pipes that exit behind the rear tires, two polished mufflers, tips, and mounting hardware.

Restoration Parts
Summit Racing has plenty of restoration parts for early Broncos. We have United Pacific replacement sheetmetal—everything from hoods, fenders, and floorpans to door skins, firewalls, door jamb assemblies, and filler panels. We also carry many small parts from Scott Drake including things like headlight rings, switches, sending units, and door hinges. Don’t forget the weatherstripping; we have kits and individual seals from Metro Moulded, Fairchild Industries, Scott Drake, and other companies.

Bestop Tops
You can’t do any better than a Bestop Supertop to replace your Bronco’s ratty original. It features rugged canvas material, a beefy steel frame, and zip-out side and back windows. Summit Racing also has matching soft doors, plus a Bikini Top if you want more sun on your head.

Bushwacker Cut-Out Fender Flares
Broncos with big tires need a set of Bushwacker fender flares. They provide 1.5 inches of extra width, and are made from durable Dura-Flex 2000 ABS thermoplastic in a matte black finish that can be painted to match your vehicle.
