Build a Better Fuel System with FUELAB
The basic automotive fuel system hasn’t changed much in the last 100 years, but the guys at FUELAB have brought fuel delivery kicking and screaming into the twenty-first century. FUELAB’s line of electric fuel pumps, fuel filters, and fuel pressure regulators are designed to work together to create a fuel delivery system that is both responsive to engine demand and more reliable than “old-tech” systems.
Here are some of the latest FUELAB products available at Summit Racing:
Prodigy Power Module In-Tank EFI Fuel Pumps
FUELAB’s Prodigy Power Module In-Tank Fuel Pumps are ideal for racing and really serious street machines with EFI engines making up to 1,800 horsepower. They take the goodness of the Prodigy 4101 Series external fuel pump and adapt it for use in aftermarket steel or aluminum fuel tanks, fuel cells, and OEM fuel tanks. Installation time is quicker and more affordable, without the hassle of mounting an external pump.
The Power Module can be coupled with a FUELAB 529 Series electronic fuel pressure regulator to set up fully automatic, demand-based pump speed control—no programming, calibration, or additional control boxes required.
You’ll need FUELAB’s Power Module Fabricator Series Kit for installation. It comes with a unique sealed flange system and an adjustable pickup with 75 micron sock filter.
The Prodigy Power Module requires the use of a bypass style regulator and return line. It’s compatible with gasoline, E85, and diesel fuels.
529 Series Electronic Fuel Pressure Regulators
Designed for use with Prodigy EFI fuel pumps, the 529 Series regulators are literally a “set and forget” system. Just set the static fuel pressure like you would with a traditional regulator. The FUELAB regulator takes over from there, constantly adjusting fuel flow based on engine demand. The regulator also generates a signal to the fuel pump to control the return line flow rate. This feature reduces current draw when there is low fuel demand, preventing fuel overheating that leads to system failure.
The 529 Series Fuel Pressure Regulators can be set from 25 to 90 psi. They have a 1/8 inch NPT port for a pressure gauge and one to reference fuel pressure for forced induction applications. They do not require additional control systems or calibration, and are compatible with gasoline, alcohol, and diesel.
Fuel Filters
FUELAB Fuel Filters are available with a choice of filter elements: 10 micron paper, 40 micron stainless steel, 75 micron stainless steel (recommended as a fuel pump pre-filter), and six micron fiberglass for ultimate filtering. The filter housing has machined internal radii to help minimize fuel pressure drop, and the filters are rated to 200 psi maximum pressure. The filters are available in three and six inch lengths and are compatible with most fuels.
Summit Racing also carries other FUELAB fuel pressure regulators; lift pumps for diesel engines; replacement fuel filter elements; and regulator rebuild kits.
