Build a Better Small Block Chevy with a Summit Racing™ SPC Engine Block

Depending on who you ask, between 90 and 100 million Gen 1 small block Chevy engines were built from 1955 to 2005. With that many made, you would think folks are literally tripping over 350 CID engine blocks in the salvage yards. The reality is that good Gen 1 blocks are harder and harder to find, and command a pretty penny when they do show up. To add insult to injury, you’ll have to pay for expensive machine work to bring that block fully up to snuff.

Better to forget all that time and expense and get a Summit Racing™ SPC Engine Block. These are brand new, heavy-duty castings that can handle up to 700 horsepower. They are cast in a foundry that is a Tier 1 OEM supplier and precision-finished in the USA on high-speed machining centers. You won’t find a higher quality iron block than ours.

Features include:
• Siamesed cylinders can be overbored up to 4.185 inch
• Priority main oiling system
• Cylinder bores notched to clear stroker crankshafts up to 3.750 inch, can be clearanced for longer strokes
• Splayed 4-bolt nodular iron main caps
• Designed to accept 1987-1995 factory hydraulic roller camshafts
• Blind cylinder head bolt holes—no sealant required
• Provisions for mechanical fuel pump
• Solid oil pan rails can be clearanced for longer-stroke crankshafts if required
• Accepts 10-bolt or late-style 8-bolt plastic timing cover

Summit Racing SPC Engine Blocks have bores finished .005 inch undersize, ready for final honing. Blocks with a two-piece rear main seal require a 1981-85 oil pan and dipstick, blocks with a one-piece seal require a 1986 and later pan and dipstick.
