Let us tell you a bit about Christian Henry Hanson, founder of C.H. Hanson Tools. Shortly after arriving in the U.S. from Denmark, he was drafted to fight in the Civil War and was injured in the Battle of Gettysburg. He settled in Chicago and founded? C.H. Hanson in 1866 making marking stencils. Six years later, poor Christian Henry lost everything but some stencils and the clothes on his back to the Great Chicago Fire.

But the company survived and flourished; still owned by the Hanson family, C.H. Hanson is the leading manufacturer of marking stencils as well as metalworking tools. Summit Racing carries C.H. Hanson locking pliers, steel stamps, and engraving tools—check them out.

Manual Locking Pliers
Locking pliers are a must if you do any type of welding or fabrication work. C.H. Hanson locking pliers have a manual adjustment knob to set and lock them to hold material in place while you weld, fold, fasten, etc. Here’s what we currently offer:
Standard Pliers
• 5” curved jaw: 1.25” jaw opening, 1.25” throat depth, 3/8” jaw width
• 7” curved jaw: 1.75” jaw opening, 1.25” throat depth, 1/2” jaw width

Steel Stamp Sets
When you just have to keep things in proper order, you need a set of C.H. Hanson steel stamps. Recommended for cold-rolled steel, sheetmetal, aluminum, brass, wood, and leather, the stamps are designed for use with a handheld hammer. They have crowned striking surfaces to ensure the full force of your hammer blow is applied to the center of the stamp, plus textured shanks for easy gripping. The steel stamp sets are available with letters from A-Z or numbers from 0-9 in 3/16, 1/8, and 1/4 inch character sizes.

Pen Engraver
Whether you want to mark your valuables as yours or do some decorative engraving on hard materials, this C.H. Hanson pen engraver can handle the job. The electric engraver has two speed settings (3,600 strokes/minute and 7,200 strokes/minute) and a solid stainless steel body with an ergonomic poylmer grip. One carbide, one hardened stainless steel, and one diamond engraving bit included.
