COMP Cams HV Camshafts: More Power for Heavy Vehicles with LS Engines

Heavier vehicles like full size cars, trucks, and SUVs have different power needs than lighter vehicles. That’s what COMP Cams HV Camshafts for GM LS engines are all about. The roller camshafts build horsepower, but more importantly they increase torque production across the engine’s operating range to improve throttle response and low/midrange RPM drivability. Put an HV camshaft in a smaller displacement engine like a 4.8L or 5.3L and you can move peak torque higher in the RPM range to improve power at highway speeds.

Summit Racing carries three COMP Cams HV cam grinds:

CCA-54-271-11
Adds 69-plus horsepower and 29-plus lbs.-ft. of torque. Excellent drivability and throttle response, easy to tune. Works with stock valve springs and torque converters.
