That’s where Computech can help. It makes weather stations, data loggers, sensors, and other racing electronics that will provide the data you need to make the right tuning decisions. Summit Racing offers a nice selection of Computech racing electronics including these:

RaceAir Pro Racing Weather Station
The RaceAir Pro Racing Weather Station is Computech’s top of the line unit. It has highly accurate digital sensors to detect even the smallest changes in atmospheric conditions that can impact your tuning and car setup. The RaceAir Pro also has dial-in and ET prediction functions, a throttle stop calculator, run completer, and other programs including:
• Carburetor jetting and EFI tuning calculators
• Blower overdrive calculator
• Gear ratio calculator
• Engine RPM vs. tire/gear change calculator
• Chassis setup by weight and percent

The Computech RaceAir Pro Racing Weather Station is custom calibrated in-house with automatic sampling to provide precise results. The handlheld unit has a multi-line LCD display and keypad. If you just want weather station functions, Summit Racing offers Computech’s standard RaceAir Weather Station unit.

DataMaxx Bracket Race Data Acquisition Kit
The DataMaxx Bracket Data Logger system is one of the most affordable racing data loggers on the market. The DataMaxx is a completely modular system. The Bracket kit comes with sensors for engine and driveshaft RPM; water temperature; oil pressure; and exhaust gas temperature (EGT), and it’s easy to expand by adding sensors for other functions as you need them. Other features include:
• Adjustable data sample rate up to 100 samples/second for each channel
• 4 RPM channels
• 4 analog channels
• 2 switch input channels
• Battery voltage channel
• 2 warning light outputs
• 5 CAN Bus connections
• View up to 10 channels per screen with unlimited screen configurations
• Customizable shift and warning lights

The DataMaxx Bracket Data Logger system comes with an LCD dash display with aluminum housing, DataMaxx PC analysis software, SD memory card port and two 2Gb cards, wiring harness, and mounting hardware.

EGT Plus Monitor
The leaner your engine’s air/fuel ratio is, the hotter the exhaust temperature gets. The converse is also true—the richer your engine runs, the cooler the exhaust temperature. Using a Computech EGT Plus Monitor will help you maintain the proper tuneup at the track by giving you an exhaust temperature baseline based on an engine dyno or other tuning session. If you make a run at the track and the EGT differs from that baseline, you can make corrections to bring the engine back to that baseline tune.

This dual channel EGT Plus Monitor has three modes:
Continuous Mode provides the maximum EGT reading during a run. Simply push the ‘Reset’ button before your run and hit the ‘Telltale’ button to read the results after the run.

Record Switch Mode is designed for circle track racers. It allows you to record data for a specific lap or section of the race track. It provides maximum EGT and engine RPM data based on the length of time the record switch is on.

Transbrake Mode provides readings for launch EGT and engine RPM, finish line EGT and RPM, maximum EGT and RPM for the entire run and also the point maximum EGT was reached. You can even set a ‘Note At’ point that will record the EGT and RPM at any point during a run.

The EGT Plus Monitor can monitor is exhaust gas, liquid, tire, and track temperatures. Combine the EGT data from the monitor with the ET predictor and tuneup functions provided by Computech’s RaceAir Pro Racing Weather Station and you nail the run every time. Your choice of weld-in or clamp-on temperature sensors.

Summit Racing also carries sensors for use with Computech’s RaceAir Pro Racing station (including a cool shock travel sensor) plus temperature guns, sensor expansion modules, and SD card readers for the DataMaxx systems.
