Convert Your Flat Tappet Cam Engine to Roller Cam Goodness with Summit Racing Roller Lifters

Roller camshafts are wonderful for making power. They allow you to run more aggressive lobe profiles that keep the valves open longer at higher lift rates. Roller cams also use less energy to spin than flat tappet cams. Both features mean more horsepower.

If you want to run a roller cam in an engine not originally designed to use one, you’ll need a set of retrofit roller lifters like these Summit Racing Roller Lifters. They’re available in two styles:

Summit Racing™ Link Bar Hydraulic Roller Lifters are drop-in retrofit lifters designed to convert engines with flat tappet cams to accept hydraulic roller camshafts. The lifter bodies are machined from cold formed steel and feature clipped axles and .700 inch diameter wheels, and are ideal for street engines up to 6,500 RPM. The lifters are available for these engines:
• Gen I small block Chevy
• Mark IV and Gen VI big block Chevy
• Ford 289-302-351W
• Small block Mopar, non-Magnum
• Pontiac 347-455

Summit Racing™ Mechanical Lifters for small block Chevy are designed for street engines and solid roller cams with lobe lift of .400 inch or less. The link bar-type lifters have a cold formed body and a .700 inch wheel diameter with pressure-fed pin oiling.
