Dial in Power and Sound with a MagnaFlow xMOD™ Exhaust System for Challenger and Charger

2015-19 R/T, Scat Pack, and SRT Challengers and Chargers could be had with an optional active exhaust (all 2020 and later Hemi models got it standard). The system uses a pair of valves that control the sound level based on throttle position. It works great, but it’s heavy and restrictive. If you’ve modified your car with performance upgrades, the factory system can be a bottleneck to getting all the power you paid for.

If that doesn’t sit right with you, get a MagnaFlow xMOD Exhaust System. Made from 409 stainless steel, it’s a true three inch diameter system from the headers to the tailpipes with mandrel-bent tubing for unrestricted exhaust flow (the OEM system is 2.5 or 2. 75 inches depending on the year and model). MagnaFlow says the xMOD will deliver 14 to 21 extra horsepower over the stock system.

The xMOD front exhaust inlets are designed to attach to the factory exhaust manifolds. If you want to add a set of headers with three inch collectors, just replace the inlets with the included header connectors—no cutting or welding required.

The xMOD system also lets you choose the sound you want—the classic MagnaFlow rumble or the full howl of an uncorked exhaust. Let’s look at the system’s anatomy to see how this works.

Front Section
The xMOD system replaces the factory X-pipe with a three inch diameter X-pipe. The front section also replaces the factory mufflers with your choice of two modules. V-band clamps make module changes quick and efficient with the use of simple hand tools and offer a much tighter seal to prevent unwanted exhaust leaks.

The Muffler Module provides that classic MagnaFlow sound. The module has dual straight-through mufflers with a perforated inner core and packing material to control sound without obstructing exhaust flow.

The xTreme Delete is a dual straight-pipe module that fully unleashes the sound of your car. How loud is it? MagnaFlow recommends checking your local noise regulations before installation.

Right behind the module are three inch diameter sound control valves that use the factory actuators ensuring full compatibility with the stock programming. This feature eliminates the need to splice in the restrictive factory control valves.

Rear Section
The rear section of the xMOD features MagnaFlow’s NDT (No Drone Technology) resonators and interchangeable exhaust tips. The resonators replace the factory parts and use quarter-wave passive noise cancellation to eliminate in-cabin drone. The resonators will also accommodate frequency changes from adding bolt-on parts like cold air intakes and headers.

For Challengers and 2018 and newer Chargers, you can use the factory rectangular exhaust tips or the included carbon fiber-wrapped, stainless steel round tips—quad for Challengers, dual for Chargers. Pre-2018 Chargers must use the factory exhaust tips as they are built into the rear valance.

The MagnaFlow xMod Exhaust System is available for 2017-21 Dodge Challenger and 2015-21 Dodge Charger. The Charger system also fits 2015-20 Chrysler 300s with the 5.7L Hemi.
