Driven Racing XP Series Racing Oil Delivers Engine Protection and Performance
Race engines have extra demands placed on them. Between the extreme power output, high operating temperatures, and consistently high RPMs, ordinary motor oil just won’t cut it. Driven Racing XP Series Racing Oils were developed by engine builders and racers for circle track, drag, endurance, and other types of performance racing engines. They’re formulated to withstand heavy loads, high speeds, and high temperatures. They also help prevent sludge formation as well as the buildup of fuel and carbon deposits that can rob engines of power.
Whether you prefer synthetic racing oil, conventional, or a mix of both, Driven Racing Oil has one that’s right for your application.
XP Series Conventional Oil
These oils have a mineral base stock formulation that provides outstanding protection for flat tappet and solid roller cam engines. Benefits include:
• Perfect choice for short-duration racing or budget-conscious builds
• High ZDDP content for excellent cam and lifter protection
• Strong oil film for protection under thermal and mechanical stress
XP Series Conventional Oil is available in two viscosities:
XP8 5W30 oil works well in high-revving, small block engines with flat tappet cams and tight bearing clearances (under .0027 inches). It’s also great for nitrous oxide-boosted engines or other applications where high oil film strength, reduced oil consumption, and minimum drag is desired.
XP4 15W50 oil is for engines built with loose bearing clearances and/or older engines with increased clearances due to wear. It also provides excellent protection in dirt track, alcohol-fueled, and other racing vehicles operating in dirty environments that need to have their oil changed frequently.
XP Series Semi-Synthetic Oils
This blend of conventional and synthetic oil is designed for endurance engines needing more stability than conventional oils and is more affordable than full synthetic oil. Other benefits include:
• Greater thermal resistance and oxidation control compared to conventional oils
• Better suited for high-shear environments like piston rings and cylinder walls and elevated operating temperatures
XP Series Semi-Synthetic Oil is available in two viscosities:
XP7 10W40 oil is designed for engines with tight clearances (under .0030 inches) like IMCA Modified, spec class, and desert and off-road racing engines that operate at sustained high RPMs. It also has a high zinc content to protect older original and/or crate engines equipped with hydraulic or solid flat tappet cams and no emission controls.
XP5 20W50 offers vastly improved high-temperature shear and oxidation stability compared to mineral-based oils. Its excellent oil film thickness and high zinc content makes it perfect for engines with aluminum blocks, high compression, and/or looser bearing clearances. It also excels at protecting engines with oil temperatures averaging between 220- to 260-degrees F.
XP Series Full Synthetic Oil
XP Full Synthetic Oil has the most uniform and consistent molecular structure of all the XP Series motor oils, allowing them to withstand the harshest operating conditions and significantly reduce parts wear. Other benefits include:
• High film strength from idle to redline
• Best oil choice for extreme stress engines with high lift cams and aggressive timing
• Compatible with methanol, E85, and high-octane blended fuels
XP Full Synthetic Oil is available in three formulations:
XP Series Full Synthetic Lightweight Oil is recommended for use in modern engines with tight clearances. It delivers fast cold-start flow and superior high-RPM protection. Viscosities include:
XP2 0W20 oil features a low-viscosity synthetic base formula to increase power without compromising durability. It’s formulated with special anti-wear and friction reducing additives to fight valvetrain wear. It’s ideal for small cubic inch, very high-revving and/or restricted airflow engines.
XP1 5W20 oil is recommended for high-RPM and high-output engines with tight piston and bearing clearances. It has a robust anti-wear/anti-friction wear package, and its thicker viscosity allows it to perform very well in engines with average oil temperatures between 180- to 240-degrees F.
XP Series Full Synthetic Midweight Oil is great for dirt, asphalt, and endurance racing. It offers excellent horsepower potential with proven high-shear protection and prevents viscosity breakdown under high temperatures. Special anti-wear/friction reducing additives allows it to work with all camshaft types and high valve spring pressures. Viscosities include:
XP3 10W30 oil is dandy in crate, spec, and custom-built engines with clearances under .0027 inches and/or with aluminum blocks using any combination of a high lift cam, high compression, and aggressive timing.
XP9 10W40 reduces wear and lowers temperatures on par with conventional 20W-50 racing oils. It works best in steel block engines with looser clearances, and shines in applications using high compression, big cams, and aggressive timing.
XP Series Full Synthetic Heavyweight Oil
XP6 15W50 offers superior stability and resistance to thermal breakdown. It also provides more high-load, high-temperature protection than all other XP Series Oils, easily protecting engines running between 240- to 320-degrees F. This oil works best in engines with aluminum blocks built with looser clearances or similar engines used in sustained high-RPM circle track and other forms of endurance racing.
Driven Racing XP Series Racing Oils does not meet any current API or OEM engine oil specifications. Summit Racing carries these Driven Racing Oils for your high-revving or hot-rodded daily driver, classic street rod, or muscle car.
