Drop Your GM C10 Squarebody with a Detroit Speed Suspension Kit

GM’s 1973-87 C10 squarebody pickups are the hot ticket right now. If you have one and want to improve its handling and stance, Detroit Speed has front and rear suspension kits to help you make that happen. Most kits are 100% bolt-on and come with all necessary mounting hardware.

Front Speed Kit
This kit will improve the handling and performance of your C10 and drop its front end by 4.5 inches. It comes with forged aluminum drop spindles with forged steel steering arms, two inch drop coil springs, and shocks. The spindles feature truck hub pack wheel bearings
with dual 5 x 5 or 5 x 4.75 inch bolt pattern. The hub bearings accept the OE-style GMT800 (1999-2006) Silverado brakes and require 17 inch or larger wheels.

Speed Kit Rear Suspension Kits
Take your choice of three kits to put the back of your squarebody closer to the ground:

Speed Kit 1 has front drop hangers and shackles to lower the rear of your truck 3 to 4 inches. The kit has two leaf spring mounting options that are one inch apart to give you more adjustability in your truck's stance. The hangers and shackles are made from ¼ inch thick steel and have a black powdercoat finish.

Speed Kit 2 comes with a spring flip kit and a C-notch frame kit for a 5 to 6 inch drop. The flip kit moves the leaf springs under the rear axle and has two spring pin hole locations in the axle pad to help you properly center the axle. The C-notch kit features two bolt-on notch brackets that provide the necessary rear axle to frame rail clearance when using the axle flip kit. Twin-tube shocks are included.

Speed Kit 3 comes with Speed Kit 1 and Speed Kit 2 to drop your truck 6 to 8 inches out back.

SpeedMAX Front Suspension Kits
The Detroit Speed C10 SpeedMAX front suspension is a bolt-on design with suspension geometry for superior handling and ride quality. Based on the later model GMT800 (1999-2006) truck suspension, the kit can be adjusted for a 4 to 6 inch drop. The SpeedMAX kit is available with non-adjustable, single-adjustable, and double-adjustable coilover shocks with 550 lb.-inch springs. The kit requires the use of Detroit Speed 13 inch diameter brake rotors and steering coupler kit, sold separately.

Other features include:
• Tubular upper and lower control arms with Delrin bushings
• Stainless steel upper control arm cross-shafts with caster tuner bushings for easy caster changes independent of camber
• Forged aluminum spindle assemblies feature hub pack wheel bearings with a 5 x 5 or 5 x 4.75 inch dual bolt pattern
• Sway bar with polyurethane bushings and low-friction end links for better sway control than the optional factory bar
• Uses GMT800 (1999-2006) GM truck brakes, requires 17 inch or larger wheel
• GMT800 power rack and pinion tuned for smooth, positive steering
• Kit can be installed in stock location or one inch forward for improved wheel and fender alignment

QUADRALink Rear Suspension Kits
A Detroit Speed QUADRALink kit will convert your truck’s leaf springs to a four-link rear suspension. The patented “Swivel-Link™” technology combined with tuned high-durometer rubber bushings allow the suspension to fully articulate with smooth, silent motion. This system utilizes a horizontal track bar to control the rear axle’s lateral location during hard cornering. The track bar is adjustable for roll center control at various ride heights. Rear crossmembers add strength and rigidity to the rear body and frame section.

Other features include:
• Ride height is adjustable from 5 to 7.5 inches of drop
• Improved ride quality and stance for daily driving and light-duty hauling
• Swivel-Links allow pinion angle and/or wheelbase adjustment without unbolting the link from the truck
• Choice of non-adjustable, single-adjustable, or double-adjustable coilover shocks and springs
• Adjustable upper shock mount relocates 1 inch up or down to change ride height without affecting shock travel
• C-notch plate creates additional axle clearance at lower ride heights
• Laser-cut brackets compatible with original axle, wiring, and brake lines for an easy installation
• Choice of kits with bolt-on or weld-on axle brackets
