Eaton Ring and Pinion Gear Sets Now Available at Summit Racing
We’d venture to say that there aren’t many companies that know traction as well as Eaton. So when it came out with ring and pinion gear sets for street and racing, we knew they would be top-quality.
Eaton gears feature CNC-cut teeth for reduced stress and smooth engagement, plus rolled splines for added tooth strength. The gears get a computer-controlled heat-treat for excellent durability.
Many Eaton gear sets are available with the patented Super Finish process. The precision finish reduces friction and wear, improves oil retention, and eliminates the need for break-in. Eaton says you can see a three to five percent improvement in power thanks to the reduced friction.
Eaton Ring and Pinion Gear Sets are available in street and competition versions and a wide range of gear ratios. Combine a set with an Eaton Posi Performance or ELocker differential , an Eaton Detroit Locker or an Eaton Detroit Trutrac diff and your traction will only get better.
Street Series
Eaton Street Series ring and pinion sets are made from high-quality 8620 or 4320 steel for long life under daily-use conditions.
Applications
• Ford 8, 8.8 (including IRS), and 9 inch
• GM 8.875 inch 12-bolt, passenger car
• GM 8.6 inch IRS
• GM 10-bolt IRS, 1963-79 Corvette
• Getrag H226
• Chrysler 8.75 inch, 489 case

Competition Series
Eaton Competition Series ring and pinion sets are made from 9310 steel, providing the higher impact resistance needed at the track. That means the gears won’t live as long in continuous use, so they are not meant for the street.

• Dana 60
