Eddie Marine Boating Accessories Now Available at Summit Racing

Is there really an Eddie in charge at Eddie Marine? Darn tootin’ there is. Ed Borges started the company in the early 1990s, and quickly became one of the biggest manufacturers of billet aluminum hardware for performance powerboat builders. Today, Eddie Marine has in-house machine, fabrication, and welding shops under one roof, and even invented its own powdercoating process, Fusioncoat. It’s safe to say Mr. Borges is a stickler for quality control.

Summit Racing offers over 4,000 Eddie Marine products from dress-up pieces to performance parts. Here is just a very small sample:

Trim Tabs
Eddie Marine makes two types of trim tabs. The heavy duty K-Plane trim tabs are made from solid 1/2" 6061-T6 aluminum and feature an extruded pivot hinge assembly with Derlin bushings and hydraulic cylinders built in-house. The tabs get a military-spec hard coat anodizing for extra corrosion resistance, then get two coats of Fusioncoat powdercoating in your choice of color. The K-Plane tabs come with two high pressure Sea Star hydraulic pumps and relay assemblies; sealed relay boxes; internal and external stainless steel/Teflon hydraulic lines, and stainless steel bulkhead fittings.

An affordable alternative to the K-Plane tabs, the Sport Tab trim tabs are made from 1/4" 6061-T6 billet aluminum. The extruded hinge assemblies are much more durable than stamped plates. The tabs are hard-anodized, then given two coats of Fusioncoat powdercoating. The Sport Tabs come with a trim pump; wiring harness; braided Teflon external and plastic internal line assemblies; and stainless steel bulkhead fittings. Eddie Marine recommends the Sport Tabs for fresh water use only on boats that run at 60 MPH or less.

Air Cleaners
These air cleaners are whittled from a solid chunk of 6061-T6 aluminum. They come with a K&N cotton gauze element with epoxy-coated wire screen. The element straightens and channels the incoming air, providing a substantial reduction in air friction and an increase in intake volume. The oval air cleaners are available for 4150/4160-style carburetors, throttle body EFI, and Dominator carburetors. The round air cleaners are available for 4150-style carburetors and throttle body EFI. Eddie Marine air cleaners meet all U.S. Coast Guard requirements.

EMI Silent Select Exhaust Systems
The EMI Silent Select exhaust systems give you a choice. With the flip of a switch, you can route the exhaust through the stock Y-pipe and sterndrive for a quieter ride, or route it through the transom for extra “rumble” and optimum performance. The systems are controlled by American-made 12 volt linear actuators that are simpler and more reliable than solenoids.

The Silent Select systems are made from stainless steel tubing with a gloss black powdercoat finish, and you can get one with straight tips, angled tips, or no tips. They come complete with a wiring harness, on-off switch, and a switch panel in your choice of polished, clear, or one of seven colors. For small block and big block Chevy MerCruiser engines.

Battery Boxes
Eddie Marine battery boxes are CNC-machined from billet aluminum and come with stainless steel standoffs and fasteners. They’re available for standard-size, Optima, and Odyssey batteries. Battery mounting fasteners are not included.
