Factory Big Block Power is Back with the Ford Performance Parts 7.3L Godzilla Crate Engine

What has big cubic inches, pushrods, and is built like a brick outhouse? Ford’s 7.3L Super Duty V8, that’s what. An option for F-250/350 Super Duty pickups and medium duty trucks, the engine nicknamed ‘Godzilla’ is rated by the factory at 430 horsepower and 475 lbs.-ft. of torque. But even more important, the 7.3L has the classic cam-in-block configuration and is chock-full of heavy-duty components designed for durability and long life.

If that sounds like the perfect recipe for a high performance street and race motor, check out the Ford Performance Parts 7.3L Godzilla Crate Engine. Just a little wider and a bit shorter than a 351 Windsor small block, the engine uses readily available 5.0L Coyote motor mounts and has the Coyote flexplate/flywheel bolt pattern. That means fitting one in an old Ford pickup, Mustang, or virtually any car that can swallow a small block should be pretty simple.

Our OnAllCylinders blog has an excellent story and video on what makes Ford's Godzilla engine tick, and what experts say about its power potential. Spoiler alert: the potential is huuuuge.
