Feed Big Horsepower in Your Mustang with a Snow Performance Multi-Pump Fuel Hat
Feeding big horsepower in your 2011 and later Mustang—we’re talking 1,000-plus rear-wheel horsepower here—takes a lot of fuel, especially if you’re using E85. That puts a lot of stress on a single in-tank fuel pump, even a high-output one. That’s why using two or even three fuel pumps is a popular upgrade, especially for Mustangs with a supercharger or a turbo.
Consider a setup that combines a smaller fuel pump with one or two larger fuel pumps. The smaller pump supplies fuel for street driving. When you get into boost on the track, the larger pump(s) can be activated to supply the extra fuel required. That reduces heat and stress on all pumps for optimum performance and longer life.
A Snow Performance Multi-Pump Fuel Hat is as close to a plug-and-play in-tank fuel pump install as you’ll find. The system replaces the factory fuel tank’s fuel hat/bucket with a billet aluminum manifold. The manifold has CNC-machined passages that eliminate the need for rubber or plastic lines and hose clamps that can leak or deteriorate. A CNC-machined body holds the fuel pumps securely and has Viton O-rings for a leak-free fit.
The Snow Performance Multi-Pump Fuel Hat has a pump sock that merges the pumps into a single feed to eliminate fuel starvation issues. A 10-micron pre-filter mounts directly to the pumps. That means no bulkheads and other unnecessary hardware.
The Fuel Hat uses OEM-quality Walbro electric fuel pumps that are compatible with gasoline, ethanol, or blends like E85. Choose from three configurations:
• 450 LPH and 470 LPH pumps that can support 1,300-plus rear-wheel horsepower on gas and 1,000-plus rear-wheel horsepower on E85
• One 450 LPH and two 470 LPH pumps that can support up to 2,000 rear-wheel horsepower on gas and 1,500-plus rear-wheel horsepower on E85
• Three 470 LPH pumps that can support up to 2,100 rear-wheel horsepower on gas and 1,600-plus rear-wheel horsepower on E85
The Snow Performance Multi-Pump Fuel Hat reuses the OE fuel level sending unit, EVAP system, filler neck, and if your Mustang has saddle-style tanks, fuel transfer pump functionality. It has -10AN female ORB feed and -8AN female ORB return ports that require 90-degree swivel adapter fittings to connect it to -10AN, -8AN, or -6AN fuel lines. The system is designed for return-style fuel systems only.
