Feed Your Corvette the Airflow it Craves with a Halltech Systems Cold Air Intake

Like so many companies in the aftermarket, Halltech Systems was founded because one person couldn’t find the parts they wanted for their vehicle, so they went out to the garage and made their own. In Halltech’s case, it was cold air intakes for Corvettes. You know the rest of the story—other Corvette owners find out how good Halltech’s intake was and wanted one, and a company was born.

Summit Racing carries Halltech Systems cold air intakes for C5, C6, and C7 Corvette—let’s take a look at a few:

C5 Killer Bee II Intake Conversion Package for 2001-04 C5 Corvette
Halltech says the Killer Bee II Intake Conversion Package will add 24 horsepower versus the factory air intake and can supply enough airflow to support 850 horsepower. As well it should since the package is built around Halltech’s cold air intake for the C6 Z06 Vette. The Killer Bee II package includes the cold air kit with a 950 CFM filter element, a GM LS7-style MAF sensor, and a MAF sensor harness adapter. The package has provisions for the factory A.I.R. pump, and Halltech will send you the correct MAF transfer curve tables free of charge for tuning.

Killer Bee MF108 Cold Air Intake Kit for C6 Corvette
Halltech’s Killer Bee MF108 has two personalities. Drop it in your LS3- or LS7-equipped C6 and you can gain up to 20 horsepower with no tuning required. Do some tuning magic and the cold air intake can add an extra 31 to 35 rear-wheel horsepower.

The Killer Bee MF108 moves the MAF sensor forward from the OEM location to ensure perfect idle quality. It comes with a heat shield that isolates the air filter and MAF sensor from engine bay heat, and requires no cutting or other funny business to install. In fact, Halltech recommends not cutting holes in the radiator shroud to get more air into the system. All that will give you are lean codes and surging.

Summit Racing also has a Halltech Systems Killer Bee cold air intake conversion package for 2005-07 Corvettes with LS2 engines. You’ll need to do some tuning with this one.

Stinger-RZ Cold Air Intake for C7 ZO6 Corvette
Halltech’s Stinger-RZ Cold Air Intake has been dyno tested by no less than 20 independent shops, including GM dealerships, with power increases of up to 55 rear-wheel horsepower. The Stinger-RZ has a K&N filter element in a sealed airbox that is much larger than the factory part to provide more airflow. The pretuned intake tube keeps the air/fuel ratio at a warranty-pleasing 12.4:1 with no other tuning required. The Halltech Stinger-RZ can also add more boost than an upper supercharger pulley swap without voiding your warranty.

That bigger airbox will require modification and/or relocation of some components for proper fit. This Halltech video shows you what needs to be done.

Summit Racing also carries Halltech’s Stinger-R cold air intakes for C7 Corvette Stingray and the Stinger-RAZ package for C7 Z06 that combines the Stinger-RZ intake with a ram air system to further increase supercharger boost. It’s way cool.
