Fire in the Hole! Maximize Engine Performance with NGK Racing Spark Plugs

Spark plugs are the Rodney Dangerfield of car parts—they don’t get no respect. Spark plugs all look pretty much the same, they must perform the same, right?

Not when it comes to NGK’s Racing Spark Plugs. These plugs are specifically designed to withstand the severe mechanical and thermal shock loads seen in high-revving performance engines with extreme cylinder pressures from high compression pistons, lean air/fuel ratios, and power adders. The plugs’ special fine-wire center and ground electrode materials are made from precious metals like platinum, iridium, and ruthenium for greater durability and reduced ignition voltage requirements for hotter sparks and enhanced ignitability. That means you get a hotter spark for a more complete burn in the combustion chamber. NGK Racing Spark Plugs high dielectric strength insulators prevents puncture and flash-over events, which can lead to component and engine failure.

Lest you think that these spark plugs are only for muscle car-era V8 engines, think again. NGK developed applications for many of today’s late-model high performance engines including:

  • Ford 4- and 6-cylinder EcoBoost
  • Ford 5.0L and 6.2L modular V8
  • GM Gen 2 Ecotec 2.5L
  • GM Gen 1 HFV6
  • GM LS 5.3L and 6.2L V8
  • Chrysler 6.1L, 6.2L, and 6.4L HEMI
