Fix Cooling Problems for Good with a DeWitts Universal Brushless Fan Kit

We’ve seen a lot of cooling issues in our time. And you know what? The main culprit for overheating engines is almost always the same: not having a properly fitted radiator fan shroud.

Sometimes, the shroud is that too small to cover the entire surface area of the radiator, reducing the amount of cool air funneled through the radiator by as much as 50 percent. Other times, people choose to leave the shroud off altogether because they don’t have enough room for a mechanical fan assembly, resulting in almost zero low-speed cooling and a hot engine that spits onto the ground.

The DeWitts Radiator Universal Brushless Fan Kit will fix that. It features a heat-resistant, injection-molded, glass fiber reinforced polymer shroud. The super thin design (only 3.75 inches thick) easily fits into cramped engine compartments, and its aerodynamic shape with molded-in flaps pulls air through the entire radiator core for maximum cooling. It fits directly onto all 27.5-inch wide radiators straight out of the box, but can be trimmed to fit models as narrow as 22.5-inches wide thanks by cutting along one of the four cut lines molded into the shroud.

If you’re car is a 1966-82 GM something or other, you’re in luck. DeWitts designed the shroud to fit directly onto these vehicles’ factory cross flow radiators’ hat channel, making installation super easy.

DeWitts chose one of the best fan motors around to drive the 16-inch fan. The SPAL 500-watt brushless motor from SPAL uses high energy ferrite magnets and a state-of-the-art sine wave sensorless drive to be one of the most efficient motor available anywhere. Features include:

  • High efficiency brushless design with low power consumption
  • Low noise, vibration, and harshness
  • Low overall weight
  • Higher ambient working temperature
  • Integrated on-board diagnostics
  • Battery compensation system so motor speed stays even and consistent
  • Protection against overheating, overcurrent, overvoltage, mechanical overload, locked rotor, and load dump
  • Quiet 40,000 hour+ operational life
  • Three-year/36-month warranty
The seven-blade fan can pull a whopping 2,430 CFM of cool outside through the radiator—enough to keep the hottest of engines happy. And if you think you need to wire in a manual on/off switch and keep one eye on your temp gauge while driving, think again. DeWitts made this fan kit fully automatic; when the built-in temperature sensor reaches 175 degrees, the fan will soft start with limited power and go into full power mode at 195 degrees.
