FLUID FILM Corrosion Protector Now Available at Summit Racing
It’s 1943. World War II is raging, and the United States Navy has big issues with rust and corrosion in the ballast tanks of its ships and landing craft. An American chemist hit on a solution—lanolin—and created FLUID FILM. It worked; the film penetrated corrosion and rust quickly, was easy for the average sailor to apply, and lasted a long time. FLUID FILM is still on the job today, fighting rust and corrosion for the Navy, NASA, and the U.S. Coast Guard.
You can use FLUID FILM to win the war against corrosion on your vehicles, lawn equipment, tools, and other metal components. FLUID FILM uses natural lanolin—the stuff that makes sheep’s wool soft and waterproof—plus highly refined petroleum oils and corrosion inhibitors to protect steel, aluminum, magnesium, copper, lead, tin and zinc from corrosion and oxidation. It creates a non-drying, self-healing barrier that embeds itself in the pores of metal, keeping moisture and oxygen locked out. While FLUID FILM does not remove rust, it will stop existing rust from spreading further.
FLUID FILM contains no solvents except for the aerosol propellant. It’s non-toxic, won’t evaporate, and doesn’t get sticky or gummy. It’s even a jim-dandy lubricant that can free up frozen parts, eliminate squeaks, and keep moving parts from seizing up.
We read over the FAQs on the FLUID FILM website and found even more uses for the product:
• Electrically non-conductive—perfect for battery terminals and electrical connections
• Protect vehicle frames and chassis from corrosion
• Lubricate locks
• Lubricate motorcycle and bicycle chains
• Condition leather work boots
• Clean and protect firearms, including wood stocks
• Makes grass easier to remove from mower decks
• Keeps snow from sticking to shovels and snowblowers
FLUID FILM will not harm most paints, plastic, and oil-resistant rubber. It is available in aerosol cans plus one and five gallon containers for use with an airless paint sprayer.
