FST Performance Carburetors Now Available at Summit Racing

In this age when the trend is to fuel inject all the things, it’s nice to see a company like Fuel Systems Technology (FST) making performance carburetors. When properly set up, a carburetor can make as much—if not more—power, and some folks just prefer tuning with a screwdriver than a computer.

We carry the entire lineup of FST street and racing carburetors, so take a look and see which one fits your needs best.

RT Series Carburetors
The RT Series carburetors are for street rods, muscle cars, and trucks. Utilizing the latest technology in air and fuel calibrations, they come from the factory ready to bolt on. FST even includes a bracket to mount a throttle position sensor switch for an electronic overdrive transmission or a data logger that requires a TPS signal. Other features include:
• Pressure forged aluminum main body with polished finish
• Cast aluminum fuel bowls with side- or center-hung floats
• 4-corner idle for fine-tuning and better fuel distribution (center-hung float models only)
• Downleg boosters
• 2-circuit metering blocks
• 30cc accelerator pumps
• Choice of vacuum or mechanical secondaries
• Electric choke

The standard RT Series carburetors are available in 600, 650, and 750 CFM models. Step up to an RT Plus carburetor and you’ll get a pressure-forged baseplate and metering blocks, four-corner idle on all models, and dual inlet fuel bowls. The RT Plus is available in 600 and 750 CFM versions.

Then there are the RT-X Series carburetors. They have a black anodized billet aluminum baseplate, red anodized billet aluminum metering blocks, quick-change jets, dual inlet fuel bowls, and four-corner idle. The RT-X carburetors are available in 600 and 750 CFM models.

Billet X-treme Series Carburetors
The Billet X-tremes have all the good stuff you expect from a high performance street and racing carburetor:
• CNC-machined 4150-style billet aluminum main body
• 2-circuit billet aluminum metering blocks with five removable emulsion bleeds for excellent tunability
• Billet aluminum baseplate drilled for 4150 and 4500 mounting flanges
• 4-corner idle adjustment
• Quick-change jets and idle circuit air bleeds
• TPS sensor bracket

The Billet X-treme carburetors also feature FST’s Viper billet aluminum fuel bowls. They have center-hung nitrophyl floats, internal baffling to prevent fuel slosh, dual fuel sight windows, and dual drain plugs so you can replace the jets without removing the bowls. The Viper bowls have three inlet fittings—a center-mount -8AN O-ring inlet and two traditional 7/8-20 side inlets—to make fuel system connections more convenient.

If you need more tuning flexibility, step up to the Billet X-treme Pro carburetor. It has three-circuit blocks that allow part-throttle tuning between idle and when the main metering circuit begins to flow fuel. This OnAllCylinders article explains two- vs. three-circuit metering more fully.

FST Billet X-treme carburetors are available in 650 and 750 CFM ratings with vacuum or mechanical secondaries. The X-treme Pro carburetors are available in 850, 950, and 1,050 CFM ratings with mechanical secondaries only.

Billet Excess Series
The Billet Excess Series carburetors are at the top of the FST carburetor food chain. They have a CNC-machined aluminum main body and 4500-style baseplate, two-circuit billet metering blocks with five removable emulsion bleeds, and three-port Viper fuel bowls. You also get:
• Center-hung floats
• No choke
• 4-corner idle adjustment
• Quick-change jets and idle air bleeds
• TPS sensor bracket
• Choice of 1,050, 1,150, and 1,250 CFM ratings

Still not enough for you? Then you want a Billet Excess Pro carburetor with three- or four-circuit metering blocks that feature six removable emulsion bleeds to get all crazy with the fine-tuning.
