Get Better Stopping Power for Your Classic Full Size Ford Car with a LEED Brakes Disc Brake Conversion Kit
Ford didn’t install front disc brakes as standard equipment on its 1957-68 full size passenger cars. That was probably OK back then, but the factory drum brakes won’t cut it on today’s crowded roads. You can fix Ford’s oversight on your full size Ford, Mercury, or Edsel with a LEED Brakes Front Disc Brake Conversion Kit. The kits use the factory drum brake spindles so the conversion is a complete bolt-on.
LEED gives you a choice of standard cast iron or Max Grip Lite aluminum four-piston calipers. The Max Grip Lite calipers have high-strength forged billet aluminum bodies and are five pounds lighter than a cast iron caliper. Both calipers have stainless steel pistons that are less prone to seizing up from corrosion.
You even get a choice of 11-inch diameter rotors: solid, drilled, or drilled and slotted. Some kits come with LEED’s MaxGrip XDS drilled and slotted rotors with Magni Zinc coating for better corrosion protection.
LEED Brakes Disc Brake Conversion Kits fit 14 x 7 and larger wheels with a 5 x 4.50 bolt pattern. All kits include rotors, calipers with semi-metallic pads, caliper mounting brackets, stainless steel braided hoses, and hardware. Manual brake kits include a dual master cylinder, and power assist kits include a master cylinder/brake booster.
