Get More Airflow with a Summit Racing™ Pro LS Drive-By-Wire Throttle Body

In 2005, GM ditched the cable-driven throttle body on its LS engines for a drive-by-wire (DBW) system that connects to the throttle pedal electronically via the ECU. From the factory’s viewpoint, a DBW setup means easier installation, and since pedal position is now software-controlled, it can tune for things like traction control, variable cylinder displacement, cruise control—even those fancy automatic launch systems like the one Dodge Hellcat Challengers have.

If you’ve made some upgrades to your late model LS/LSX engine and your factory DBW throttle body doesn’t flow enough air to keep up, get a Summit Racing™ Pro LS Drive-By-Wire Throttle Body. Precision-machined from 6061 billet aluminum, the bodies’ larger 103mm venturi bore means plenty of airflow for better acceleration across the engine’s RPM range. The proprietary electronics and stepper motor let you use one for either a naturally aspirated or forced induction engine.

The throttle bodies have a blade design that makes them compatible with any factory or aftermarket LS/LSX intake manifold; they even utilize the original GM 6-pin connector. Your choice of black anodized, polished, or natural finishes. Tuning is required for installation.

This Summit Racing YouTube video explains the difference between a drive-by-wire and cable-driven throttle body.
