Get the Stall Speed You Need with a Yank Performance Torque Converter for GM Overdrive Automatic Transmissions
Lots of folks think torque converters run on magic and are built by leprechauns. Neither is true as far as we know. What we do know is Yank Performance builds high-performance street and drag race converters that just plain work. That’s why builders like Hoonigan, Tom Nelson Racing Engines, and Motor Trend’s Hot Rod Garage and Roadkill trust Yank converters.
Here are some of the standard features found on every converter Yank Performance makes for GM overdrive automatics:
• New Torrington bearings
• Furnace-brazed pump and impeller
• Solid billet lockup clutches
• One-piece flanged impeller hub that is roller burnished for long seal and bushing life
• Extra wide oversized lockup clutch material to handle big horsepower and torque
• Hardened input and turbine splines
And if you find your converter’s stall speed isn’t quite what you need, Yank Performance will re-stall it for free in your first year of ownership. That’s nice of them.
Summit Racing carries Yank Torque converters for GM 4L60E/4L65E, 4L70E, 4L80E/4L85E, 6L80E, 6L90E, and 8L90 automatic transmissions hooked to a GM LS or LT engine.
SS Series Torque Converters
Yank Performance SS Series Torque Converters are ideal for naturally aspirated or nitrous engines in street-driven cars that see action on the dragstrip. The 9.5-inch diameter converters are rated to handle up to 650 rear-wheel horsepower.
Most SS Series Converters are rated at 3,600 RPM flash stall speed. Versions with 3,200 and 4,000 RPM flash stall speeds are also available.
Power Adder Series Torque Converters for 6L80E and 6L90E
Rated to 650 rear-wheel horsepower, Yank Performance Power Adder Series Converters are based on the 9.5-inch SS Series converters but are designed for cars with power adders like nitrous, a supercharger, or a single small turbo. Power Adder Series converters have a 3,400 RPM flash stall speed and will couple up quicker and multiply torque harder than their SS Series cousins.
Pro Truck Series Torque Converters
The Yank Performance Pro Truck Series are 10.5-inch diameter torque converters that can handle up to 1,200 rear-wheel horsepower. They’re available with 3,200 RPM flash stall speed versions or a 3,600 RPM stall speed model made for 1998-02 F-body with an LS1 or LS2 and 1999-up GM trucks with 4.8L, 5.3L, and 6.0L engines.
Pro Yank Series Torque Converter for 2015-19 Corvette with 8L90
This Yank Performance Pro Yank Series torque converter is a 10.5-inch unit for Corvettes that run a supercharger, turbo, or large shots of nitrous. The Pro Yank converter has a 3,400 RPM flash stall speed and is rated to 1,200 rear-wheel horsepower.
SC Series Torque Converter for 4L60E, 4L65E, and 4L70E
The Yank Performance SC Series Torque Converter is a 10.5-inch diameter converter designed to work with supercharged engines. It has a 4,000 RPM flash stall speed and is rated to 1,200 rear-wheel horsepower.
A Note: Actual stall speed may differ due to engine combination, gear selection, and vehicle weight. Yank Performance uses flash stall speed to rate its converters. Flash stall is the maximum amount your engine's torque can stall a torque converter and can be directly measured. Foot-brake stall is more subjective and is affected by factors like traction, gearing, brake clamping force, and engine torque. You can learn more on the Yank Performance website.
