Get the Stall Speed You Want without Sacrificing Drivability with a ProTorque Pro Drive Torque Converter

Building torque converters for street-driven performance cars is a balancing act. You want a decent amount of stall speed to so the car can move smartly from a standing start. But you don’t want too much stall or you’ll generate too much heat-inducing slippage and ruin the car’s overall drivability.

ProTorque did a fine job of balancing stall speed and drivability with their Pro Drive Torque Converters. Designed for cars making around 500 to 850 horsepower, they’re built with many of the features found in drag race converters:

• CNC-machined billet front cover adds rigidity
• Billet clutch assembly
• Hardened billet turbine splines and drive hub
• Anti-ballooning plate prevents flexing at high RPM
• Furnace-brazed fins and reinforced TIG welds to handle large amounts of engine torque
• Torrington bearings to handle increased heat and improve efficiency compared to washers
• Computer balanced for efficient torque transfer and durability
• Converters for overdrive transmissions are lockup capable
