MSD’s legendary Digital 6-series Ignition Boxes are now available as the upgraded Ultra 6A-Series. Available in three versions, these capacitive-discharge ignitions are 60% smaller and 50% lighter than standard 6A boxes while packing a bigger spark punch. 

The Ultra 6A Ignition Boxes have these features:

• New processor provides high efficiency with minimal heat and less current draw
• 135-150mJ of spark energy at all RPMs
• Quicken throttle response and improve starting
• Maintain precise timing and accurate rev limiting
• Tach output to drive an external tachometer
• Fully protected against open coil, shorted coil, and open load
• Connect to points and magnetic pickup distributors
• Operate on most 7- to 28-volt electrical systems on 4-, 6-, and 8-cylinder engines with distributors

Ultra 6AL Ignition Boxes include all the same great features of the Ultra 6A boxes, plus:

• Wireless control from a smartphone via the MSD Ultra 6AL mobile app
• Settings for cylinder selection, step retard, launch RPM, burnout RPM, max RPM, and start retard values
• Increased spark series duration lasts for 18 degrees of crankshaft rotation
• Alerts and monitors available
• Connects to points, magnetic pickups, and hall/crank-type distributors on 4-, 6-, and 8-cylinder engines
• MSD CAN communication for easy connectivity to MSDView using a CAN-Bus Hub and Power Grid USB Controller

Ultra 6AL Plus Ignition Boxes up the ante even more with these additional features:

• Onboard 4-BAR MAP sensor
• Boost-dependent timing control up to 400 kPA (58 PSI)
• Programmable timing curves that can be made in 2D plots or 3D tables from the MSD Ultra 6AL mobile app or MSDView on a laptop via the integrated USB port
• Programmable launch timing
• Able to program cylinder selection and start retard without a computer or app 

MSD Ultra 6A-Series Ignition Boxes are available in your choice of red or back finishes. MSD recommends using Blaster HVC or Blaster HVC-2 ignition coils for maximum spark output and high-RPM operation.
