Give Your Engine a Head Start with PennGrade Assembly Lubricant and Break-In Oil
Proper engine lubrication during assembly and break-in after a full rebuild or a cam and lifter swap is important for the engine’s overall life and performance. Surprisingly, a lot of folks don’t understand this procedure. Worse, they don’t know that lubricants specifically made for the purpose should be used.
PennGrade High Performance Engine Assembly Lubricant
PennGrade High Performance Engine Assembly Lubricant is recommended by machine shops and professional engine builders because it offers the proper protection for new components during assembly. It provides higher load-carrying ability and excellent surface film protection to prevent wear for highly stressed internal components such as cams, lifters, and all other valvetrain components, piston wrist pins, rod bearings, main bearings, and more.
PennGrade High Performance Engine Assembly Lubricant is mixable with all types of mineral-based and synthetic engine oils.
PennGrade 1 Break-In Oil
The oil you use day in, day out is designed to prevent wear. On the flip side, PennGrade 1 Break-In Oil is formulated to allow a small amount of friction (called “controlled wear” in the industry) to occur so that the piston skirts and rings seat uniformly against the cylinder walls for maximum compression and power. Additionally, PennGrade 1 features a robust additive system with enhanced levels of zinc dialkyl dithiophosphate, more commonly known as ZDDP. ZDDP adheres to engine surfaces, preventing metal-to-metal contact in areas where an oil film cannot exist, like between camshaft lobes and lifters. It also helps to harden the lobes and lifters, making them more resilient to wear.
PennGrade 1 Break-In Oil is available in individual quarts or in a pack of 12 quarts. It is suitable for use in both gasoline and diesel engines.
