Give Your Gen 6 Bronco the Gift of Traction with Eaton Rear Differentials
If the plans for your Gen 6 Bronco include off-roading, then help yourself to an Eaton Detroit Truetrac or ELocker4 rear differential beforehand. Either one will allow your Bronco to drive normally on the road but give you the upper hand for powering through mud holes or climbing over rocks off-road.
Eaton Detroit Truetrac Differential
The totally maintenance-free Eaton Detroit Truetrac Differential features smooth, automatic operation in forward and reverse. Its patented parallel-axis, planetary helix gear design provides true limited slip-type performance that improves handling, enhances off-road performance, and increases stability while towing.
Here’s how it works: Under normal driving conditions, the Detroit Truetrac operates as a standard differential. When a wheel encounters a loss of traction or the terrain changes, the helical-shaped gears mesh with increasing force, transferring torque to the high-traction wheel until wheel spin is slowed or completely stopped. When the vehicle exits the low-traction situation, the differential seamlessly resumes back to standard operation.
Eaton Electronic ELocker4 Differential
The Eaton ELocker4 Differential features a 4-pinion design with net-forged gears for strength and durability. Electronic controls with a simple one-wire actuation provide driver-selectable operation and added reliability over lockers requiring air lines and compressors. By simply pressing the included activation switch, the differential sends all available torque to both wheels equally, providing maximum traction to overcome challenging terrain. A wiring harness with a relay, a chassis electrical system protecting diode, and a fuse are also included.
Eaton Detroit Truetrac and Electronic ELocker4 Differentials fit all 2021-2023 Bronco rear axles not equipped with a factory locking differential. Ford Broncos with factory 3.73 gears have a welded ring gear design requiring a replacement ring and pinion set to complete installation.
