Give Your Powerboat a Horsepower Boost with an Eddie Marine EMI Thunder Exhaust System
Eddie Marine says its EMI Thunder Exhaust Systems have been the powerboat world’s most popular high performance exhaust systems for over twenty years. Available for small and big block Chevy engines, EMI Thunder systems feature aluminum exhaust manifolds with large individual runners for ultra-efficient exhaust flow and velocity. That improves torque and horsepower. Other features include:
• Direct replacements for many stock MerCruiser systems with cast iron manifolds
• High performance riser pipes with 3 1/2” I.D. tubing and 4” exhaust hose connections (most systems)
• 70 pounds lighter than systems with stock cast iron manifolds
• Three-step finish process for corrosion resistance
• Available polished or hardcoat-anodized in black, blue, or red
Systems with Standard Risers
These systems come with standard-length, cast aluminum risers. They are direct replacements for Mercruiser manifolds using exhaust selector systems or MerCruiser ‘S’ pipes.
Systems with High Performance Risers
These systems feature 16 inch long stainless steel risers, which can help prevent water ingestion for engines with high performance camshafts. Your choice of an S-style riser pipe configuration (exhaust exits below the swim steps) or with a standard riser (exhaust exits in factory locations through the transom). The standard riser systems are also available with three inch taller risers to replace MerCruiser manifolds equipped with spacers.
Systems with Silent Choice Risers
These systems have shorter stainless steel risers for use with Eddie Marine’s EMI Silent Select, Mercury Silent Choice, and other aftermarket selector systems. They also work well with Mercruiser S-pipe systems. They are not recommended for engines with performance camshafts.
Systems with Dry Pipe Risers
These systems will solve your reversion/water ingestion problems. They have 36 inch long stainless steel risers that keep the engine discharge water and exhaust separated until the very end of the pipe outside of the boat, dramatically reducing chances of reversion. Be warned—these systems are loud.
Summit Racing also carries Eddie Marine EMI Thunder systems just for powerboats with Mercruiser 496 big block Chevy engines.
