Hays Performance Twister Torque Converters Now Available at Summit Racing

Whether you have a street hero or a full-on race car, Summit Racing has a Hays Performance Twister Series torque converter for you. Each converter is hand built, inspected, and tested to ensure it performs as designed. The converters are internally welded for longer life and are built with heavy duty Torrington bearings for greater strength and durability. Hays even uses select stators with high flow vents and channels to promote cooling in heat producing, high-horsepower applications

And you’ll appreciate this. Hays builds each converter to fit one transmission type and converter bolt pattern. That means you get a lighter converter that provides a more consistent stall speed launch to launch for maximum performance.

Summit Racing offers two types of Hays Twister torque converters:

Twister 3/4 Race
Twister 3/4 Race converters are for street/strip cars making up to 650 horsepower and have modifications like higher compression ratios, aftermarket camshafts and cylinder heads, lower gear ratios, and reduced weight. If you are using nitrous oxide or a trans-brake, you’ll need to step up to a Twister Full Race converter.

Twister Full Race Torque Converters for TH-350 and TH-400
The Full Race torque converters are for dedicated race cars making up to 1,000 horsepower. They feature a custom anti-balloon plate designed to stop potential torque converter ballooning. That makes them ideal for use with a trans-brake and power adders such as nitrous, superchargers, and turbos.
