Holley HydraMat Fuel Pickups: No More Fuel Starvation

Attention circle trackers, road racers, off-roaders, and other drivers who’ve ever experienced fuel starvation due to a fuel tank pickup sucking air instead of fuel: Holley has an ingenious way to make sure that never happens again. The HydraMat™ Fuel Pickups are perfect for vehicles experiencing fuel starvation during hard cornering, acceleration, stopping, inclines, and low fuel conditions. They greatly reduce the potential for air to enter the fuel system, which can result in poor performance or stalling.

The HydraMat looks like a squishy bag, making it easy to fold up and fit into a tank or cell. That bag’s special media has thousands of tiny pores. If an area of a HydraMat is uncovered, tiny pores in that spot are sealed off by surface tension, forcing fuel to be drawn from other areas of the mat still covered by fuel. What’s more, the unique internal reservoir helps keep fuel available at the pickup even under extreme fuel slosh conditions. That eliminates the need for special fuel tank reservoirs, sumps, and pickup pumps, reducing fuel system cost and complexity.

The Holley HydraMat can also be used as a 15 micron fuel pump pre-filter, eliminating the need for a separate filter before the fuel pump. The HydraMat is available in various square, rectangular and “X” shaped mats for easy installation through various sending unit access holes or fuel cell cover plates.
