Improve Your Full-Size GM Car’s Stance and Handling with an Aldan American Coilover Kit
Since the dawn of the automobile, man has looked for ways to improve its handling and adjust its ride height. Aldan American offers many easy-to-install kits that can do all that and more for 1971-96 Chevy Caprice/Impala and other GM B-Body full-size car models.
Aldan American’s combination coilover/shock or full coilover kits replace the factory shocks and springs with an adjustable setup using the OEM shock and spring mounting locations. That makes them an easy bolt-on installation that maintains the factory suspension geometry.
Other features include:
• Adjust ride height without removing the coilovers
• Cold-wound, linear springs for greater performance consistency
• Works with OEM or aftermarket front control arms
• Works with factory and aftermarket rear axles with OEM-style shock mounting
• Kits with thrust bearings reduce friction at the spring seats for smoother preload and ride height adjustments (not available on suspension packages or rear-only coilover kits)
• Kits with spherical bearings deliver a precise chassis connection and a sharper handling response for true performance driving feel (not available on suspension packages, front shocks only on all other kits)
• Shocks are factory-serviceable and rebuildable for greatly extended shock life
• Reinforced mounting plates, mounting bracketry, and hardware included where necessary
• Kits are optimized to work with 15–20-inch diameter wheels (except ‘Big Wheel’ Coilover Kits)
• Made in the U.S.A.
Road Comp Kits include single-adjustable shocks that allow you to adjust both compression and rebound simultaneously. They are most used for street performance vehicles to improve handling, performance, and steering responsiveness over non-adjustable shocks.
Track Comp Kits come with double-adjustable shocks. They deliver independent control over rebound and compression for much more precise tuning. This allows you to better match the suspension to virtually any road condition you may encounter. For this reason, double adjustable shocks are typically used on vehicles that spend time on autocross courses or road racetracks.
Aldan American also gives you two choices for coil springs. The small block springs are for vehicles equipped with small block or aluminum LS engines. You’ll want the big block springs if your car is running a big block, iron block LS, or a supercharger on the engine (regardless of if the engine is a small or big block).
Road Comp/Track Comp Suspension Packages
Aldan American Road Comp/Track Comp Suspension Packages convert the stock front suspension to coilovers for front ride height adjustment of 0-2 inches lower for improved handling and looks. The rear adjustable shocks offer a superior ride when compared to OEM shocks. They work with both factory and aftermarket lowering rear springs.
Road Comp/Track Comp Rear Coilover Conversion Kits
Get even more performance from the rear of your car with an Aldan American Road Comp/Track Comp Rear Coilover Conversion Kit. They deliver unprecedented levels of control and ride height adjustability for the perfect stance along with sharper handling and a better ride. You can adjust ride height between 0-3 inches without removing the coilovers to achieve the stance that matches your build.
Road Comp/Track Comp ‘Big Wheel’ Full Coilover Conversion Kits
If you have a GM B-body and you want to throw some 22- to 24-inch wheels on it, Aldan American now offers Road Comp/Track Comp Coilover Conversion Kits for your big wheel-equipped ride. Instead of dropping your car closer to the tarmac, these kits push it 1-2 inches higher toward the clouds for more body clearance to fit big meats. The kits ditch the factory shocks and springs in favor of everything needed to convert the suspension to fully adjustable front and rear coilover systems.
Nighthawk Road Comp/Track Comp Full Coilover Conversion Kits
If you’re looking for the ultimate in adjustability, then you’ll want the Nighthawk Road Comp/Track Comp Full Coilover Conversion Kits. Allowing for a lowered suspension ride height adjustment of 0-2 inches in the front and 0-3-inches in the rear, these kits are guaranteed to deliver the perfect stance, increased cornering prowess, and ride quality you’ve been looking for.
The Nighthawk Coilover Kits also have one more trick up their adjustable spring sleeves. The coilovers feature a Type II black anodized finish that offers greater durability, is easier to clean, and provides a sleek, show stopping look that’s sure to set your car apart from the crowd.
