Innovators West Harmonic Balancers and Components Now Available at Summit Racing

Innovators West made its name making some of the best harmonic balancers on the market. Innovators West is more than just balancers. The company makes camshaft belt drives, supercharger pulleys, drive pulley conversion kits for GM LS engines, and other components, all made in the USA and available at Summit Racing.

Harmonic Balancers
These SFI 18.1-certified harmonic balancers feature a billet aluminum case with an internal free-floating, wet friction clutch pack assembly and spring-loaded inertia rings to dampen crankshaft harmonics over a wide RPM range. The design uses a small amount of fluid inside that acts as a lubricant and dissipates internally generated heat to the outer body. Other features include:

Camshaft Belt Drive Systems for Small Block Ford and Ford 429-460
Belt drives are more accurate than timing chains or gear drives, and more durable too. Innovators West belt drive systems have a two-piece top pulley that lets you externally adjust cam timing up to +/- 10 degrees. Cam thrust is controlled with premium Torrington needle bearings, and an adjustable idler pulley eccentric lets you maintain proper belt tension. The systems come with anodized pulleys, a Super Torque belt, and a machined aluminum cover.

Drive Pulley Conversion Kits for GM Gen III, IV, V LSX
The factory accessory drives are set up for a six-rib serpentine belt. That’s fine for a stock vehicle, but turn up the horsepower wick or add a supercharger and that six-rib system might (OK, will) start slipping.

Problem solved with an Innovators West Drive Pulley Conversion Kit. You can upgrade to an eight- or 10-rib configuration—most come with an SFI 18.1-approved harmonic balancer, alternator pulley, power steering pulley (non-electric power steering applications), idler pulley, and tensioner pulley. The 10-rib kits also include a water pump pulley.

A really cool option you can get is a 10% overdrive balancer to free up some horsepower otherwise consumed by your belt-driven accessories.

Supercharger Pulleys
Summit Racing offers Innovators West supercharger pulleys for vehicles running a Magnuson or Edelbrock E-Force TVS superchargers. The aluminum pulleys are available in a variety of diameters so you can fine-tune the boost level to your liking.

Summit Racing also carries Innovators West crank, alternator, water pump, power steering, and idler pulleys; crank mandrels and bolts; timing pointers; and components to mount a crank trigger to an Innovators West balancer.
