Install That Crank Seal with a Summit Racing™ Pro LS Cover Alignment Tools for GM LS
Getting the crank seals in your Gen III or Gen IV LS engine’s front timing and rear main seal cover is critical to preventing oil leaks. Unlike older engines, the LS covers don't have dowel pins to ensure correct alignment to the crankshaft center line. Get the alignment wrong and your engine will mark its territory everywhere you park.
A set of Summit Racing™ Pro LS Cover Alignment Tools will prevent those leaks by perfectly centering the seal openings when you install the covers. That makes it easier to install the seals, too.
The Front Cover Alignment Tools fit over the crankshaft snout, and are available for installing a cover with or without the seal in place. These instruction sheets explain how each type works:
• Tool for cover with seal installed
• Tools for cover without seal installed
The Rear Cover Alignment Tool is designed to install the rear main seal cover without the seal in place. These instructions explain how it works.
