Keep On Running with OEM Replacement Sensors for Late Model Vehicles
Modern vehicles are electronic marvels that depend on a bunch of sensors to monitor and deliver information on various systems. And like anything else electronic, sensors do fail, often without warning. Do yourself a favor and check your sensors and replace any failed ones with high-quality replacements from Summit Racing. Here are three sensors that should be at the top of your list:
Dorman ABS Speed Sensors
Anti-lock brake (ABS) systems rely on speed sensors to report wheel speed information to the ABS computer. When you slam on the brakes in an emergency (like on slippery winter roads), the computer uses that information to modulate the brakes until wheel speeds are equal, preventing lockup. When that little ABS light goes off and the brakes don’t pulse like they’re supposed to, Dorman makes direct replacement ABS speed sensors for most popular domestic and import vehicles made from 1986 to 2012.
Bosch Oxygen Sensors
You’ll know when your oxygen sensor(s) have gone south—your engine will feel sluggish and down on power, fuel mileage will plummet, and your tail pipe will cough out black sooty stuff. Bosch invented the modern oxygen sensor, so it makes sense that its replacement sensors are the best available. Bosch even uses OEM-style connectors for easy installation. Summit Racing has Bosch oxygen sensors for hundreds of vehicles made since 1979.
Delphi MAP Sensors for GM
Got a check engine light flickering on the dashboard? Take a look at your Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor. A bad sensor can cause hesitation under acceleration, elevated emissions, and overall poor engine performance. Delphi MAP sensors are designed to perform in harsh environments, such as extreme temperatures, vibration, thermal and mechanical shock, and chemical contamination. As well they should since Delphi makes them for GM as original equipment.
