Keep the Sludge Out of Your Automatic Transmission with Valvoline Transmission Fluid
Heat is the Number One killer of automatic transmissions. And one of the causes of overheating is the buildup of deposits inside the transmission. This sludge is also a leading cause of delayed shifts, poor shift quality, and if left unchecked, outright transmission failure.
But you can prevent sludge buildup in your transmission by changing the automatic transmission fluid as recommended by the manufacturer or rebuilder. And you certainly can’t go wrong using Valvoline transmission fluid. It removes deposits and prevents new ones from forming, prevents premature wear of clutches and bands, and resists thermal breakdown for longer fluid life.
Don’t worry about figuring out which automatic transmission fluid you need—Valvoline has you covered with fluids for traditional automatic transmissions as well as the latest CVT transmissions:
MaxLife Multi-Vehicle Transmission Fluid
• Suitable for use in over 90% of vehicles with traditional automatic transmissions
• Full synthetic formulation features advanced additives to help extend transmission life
• Maintains smooth shifting longer than conventional automatic transmission fluids
• Maximizes the life of higher mileage transmissions
• Not for use with CVTs, or transmissions requiring Type F fluid
DEX/MERC Transmission Fluid
• Recommended for 2005 and earlier GM and Ford vehicles
• Flows easily at low temperatures for good cold-start shifting
• Recommended for use where DEXRON-III or MERCON transmission fluid is required
DEXRON VI Transmission Fluid
• General Motors licensed and approved for all 2006 and newer GM vehicles
• Full synthetic formula provides twice the durability and stability of DEXRON III
• Can be used wherever DEXRON II and/or DEXRON III fluids are recommended
MERCON V Transmission Fluid
• Recommended for 1996 and newer Ford vehicles
• Superior resistance to viscosity breakdown for improved wear protection
• Compatible with transmissions requiring MERCON fluid except those using MERCON SP
ATF+4 Transmission Fluid for Chrysler
• Chrysler licensed and approved
• Full synthetic formula for 1998 and later Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep vehicles
• Fully compatible with transmissions requiring ATF+3, ATF+2, and Type 7176 fluid
Type F Transmission Fluid
• Recommended for 1980 and earlier Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles
• Provides excellent resistance against clutch slippage for extended transmission life
• Additional applications include air compressors, power steering systems, and general purpose hydraulics
CVT Transmission Fluid
• Full synthetic formula provides better anti-shudder performance, torque transfer, and wet clutch performance
• Recommended for use in belt- and chain-driven CVT transmissions including Chrysler, Honda, Jeep, Mercedes-Benz, Mini, Mitsubishi, and Nissan
• Not recommended for use in Toyota, Ford, and Nissan vehicles with hybrid engines and CVTs
Valvoline Import Multi-Vehicle Transmission Fluid
• Full synthetic formula helps improve and maintain smooth shifting over long service intervals
• Excellent flow properties at low temperatures and greater film protection at high temperatures
• Recommended for use in most Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Hyundai/Kia and other import vehicles
Summit Racing also carries Valvoline Synchromesh Manual Transmission Fluid for GM and Chrysler vehicles and SYN GARD Automatic Transmission Fluid ES for medium- and heavy-duty truck transmissions.
