Keep Things in Tip-Top Shape with These Summit Racing Brand Products
At first glance, these Summit Racing brand products don’t seem to have a thing in common. But our Coolant Filters and Brake Fluid are made to keep your coolant and brake systems in tip-top shape, so they are related, sort of. Check them out below.
Summit Racing™ Coolant Filters
Engine coolant filters have been used for years on big-rig diesel engines. They’re designed to keep junk—especially sand left over from the block casting process—out of the coolant to protect the water pump, radiator, engine oil cooler, and other heat exchangers from damage. Without a filter, sediment builds up in the unfiltered coolant, which can clog or wear out cooling system parts. When that happens, engine temperatures can spike dramatically and cause serious engine damage.
You don’t have to own a diesel truck to get the benefits of a coolant filter. Summit Racing’s Coolant Filters are a universal, in-line design that plumbs into your cooling system hose. A reusable stainless steel mesh element filters out any debris in the coolant, and the clear glass housing makes it easy to check during routine maintenance. The filters are perfect for gasoline-engined trucks that tow or haul heavy loads, and for performance cars that run hard on the street or at the track. The filters are available with 1.25, 1.5, and 1.75 inch diameter inlets and outlets. Your choice of a polished or black housing.
Summit Racing™ DOT 4 Racing Brake Fluid
Racing is hell on brake fluid. The intense heat can literally cook the fluid, causing it to vaporize and compress. When that happens, you get massive brake fade and your brake pedal turns to mush.
Summit Racing’s DOT 4 Racing Brake Fluid is a full synthetic formula with a minimum dry boiling point of 572 degrees F, well above the boiling point for most non-synthetic DOT 3 and DOT 4 fluid. That means it is much better at resisting vaporization and compression for fade-free braking and a responsive brake pedal. Summit Racing DOT 4 Racing Brake Fluid is also low-viscosity, making it ideal for use in vehicles with anti-lock brake and traction control systems.
