Circulating Mechanical Water Pumps
Sierra Marine Circulating Mechanical Water Pumps feature new housing castings and bi-directional brass impellers for use on right- or left-hand rotation engines. You also get brass plugs and fittings, gaskets, a stainless steel cup and spring (most applications), and a stainless steel backplate where required. The pumps have a corrosion-resistant powdercoat finish.

Exhaust Manifolds and Risers
The exhaust manifold(s) and risers on your boat’s engine may be made of cast iron, but that doesn’t mean they’ll last forever. They must endure very hot exhaust gas containing corrosive acids as well as exposure to water and vibration. When the engine sits idle for long periods, rust and corrosion eventually eat away at the metal and clog water jackets surrounding the outside of the manifold. If water gets into the exhaust gas passages, it can get into the engine and cause piston seizure or hydrolocking. Either way, the carnage won’t be pretty.

You can avoid all of that by periodically inspecting your engine’s exhaust manifolds and risers for rust and/or failed gaskets and replacing suspect parts with new Sierra Marine parts. Exhaust manifolds are new castings that are pressure-tested before they leave the factory. Exhaust risers for center-rise manifolds are precision-machined cast iron and ready to install out of the box. They’re good insurance against engine damage.

Engine Couplers
The engine coupler connects the engine to your boat’s stern outdrive and helps isolate vibration between the engine and the outdrive. The coupler rotates with the engine and transfers the power to the outdrive that in turn rotates the propeller. Think of it as a really short driveshaft; it has to carry all the power the engine can deliver. If the coupler fails, the engine will run, but no power will be transferred to the propeller.

If you encounter heavy vibration in the driveline, the coupler may be misaligned or on the verge of failure. Either way, Summit Racing has Sierra Marine engine couplers to make everything right again. We have them for GM, Ford, Volvo Penta, and OMC Cobra engines.

Water Pump Impeller Kits
Your boat’s water pump impeller is a critical part of the engine’s cooling system. It pumps water inside the engine to keep it cool. If the impeller fails and you run the engine until it overheats, it can leave your boat dead in the water. That means a tow back to the dock and a potentially expensive repair bill.

To prevent such a catastrophe, inspect the impeller annually and replace it if you find cracks or partially melted blades.
