Keep Your Vintage Engine Running Longer with Motul Classic Motor Oil
If you have an engine of a “certain age,” keep it protected with Motul Classic Motor Oil. The oils have additive blends that are compatible with the specific needs, assembly tolerances, and gasket materials used in engines from the 1950s through the 1990s. That means more decades and more miles of engine life.
Classic Motor Oil
Motul Classic Motor Oil is a mineral-based formula made specifically for gas and diesel engines that have looser engine tolerances and tend to consume more oil than modern engines.
Classic 20W50 is made for engines built from 1950 to 1970. It has increased levels of ZDDP (zinc) and molybdenum to protect flat tappet and high-lift cams. It also has the proper level of detergents to prevent carbon deposits.
Classic 30 and 50 are single-weight oils formulated for gas engines built from 1900 to 1950. They have very low detergent levels to reduce soot and deposits. The oils are compatible with paper, felt, and fabric gaskets as well as brass, bronze, and copper engine components.
Classic 2100 Motor Oil
This 15W50-weight oil is the upgraded formulation of Motul’s Century 2100 motor oil, the first semi-synthetic multigrade motor oil. Made for naturally aspirated and power-adder gas and diesel engines built after 1970, it contains more ZDDP to keep flat tappet cams protected and offers better cold viscosity to reduce wear during startup. The synthetic base offers outstanding oxidation stability and stable engine oil pressure, and modern detergents help prevent carbon deposits.
Classic Eighties 10W40 and Classic Nineties 10W30 Motor Oil
Don’t let the names fool you—these semi-synthetic oils are ideal for higher compression naturally aspirated, supercharged, and turbocharged engines from the 1970s through the 1990s. The high ZDDP (above 1800 ppm) and molybdenum formula was developed to balance performance and protection. The synthetic base stock provides excellent cold flow properties to reduce wear during startup, high-temperature oil film strength, and stable oil pressure.
