LEED Brakes Disc Brake Conversions and Upgrades Now Available at Summit Racing

LEED Brakes is a shop full of brake enthusiasts in Buffalo, New York. Since it snows 13 months a year up there, the LEED Brakes folks have lots of time to design and perfect disc brake conversions, power boosters, master cylinders, and other upgrades for classic American muscle cars, trucks, and street rods.

Summit Racing carries a big selection of LEED brake kits and components including these:

Disc Brake Conversion Kits
LEED Brakes makes top-quality drum-to-disc brake conversion kits for popular GM, Ford, and Mopar vehicles. The kits include solid or slotted and cross-drilled rotors, GM-style cast iron calipers, brake pads, backing plates, and necessary hose and hardware. Front brake conversion kits for 1967-70 Mustang also include a new manual or automatic transmission pedal.

The front brake conversions are available in three versions:
• Spindle mount—disc brake conversion minus a master cylinder and/or power booster
• Manual brake—disc brake conversion with manual brake master cylinder
• Power brake—disc brake conversion with power brake booster and master cylinder

The rear brake kits feature calipers with a built-in parking brake that hooks up to the factory parking brake cable/actuator. Kits are available for vehicles with these rear axles:
• GM 10- and 12-bolt
• Ford 8 and 9 inch
• Mopar 8.5 and 9.5 inch
• Mopar 8.75 and 9.75 inch

Master Cylinder and Booster Kits
Replace your factory power booster/master cylinder or convert your brakes from manual to power assist with a LEED Master Cylinder and Brake Booster Kit. They mount to the firewall in the factory location and are available for drum/drum, disc/drum, and disc/disc front and rear brake setups. Some kits are available with chrome or polished boosters.

Summit Racing also carries LEED Power Brake Quick Install Kits to convert 1957-73 Ford and Mercury vehicles with manual front brakes to power brakes. The kits include the booster and master cylinder assembly, and an adjustable rear proportioning valve to fine-tune the brake pressure to avoid rear wheel lockup.

Bandit Electric Vacuum Pump Kits
Power brakes need 16 to 18 Hg of vacuum to operate properly. Drop a big cam in your engine and you lose vacuum—and gain a rock-hard brake pedal. LEED Bandit Series Vacuum Pump Kits are a better way to generate more vacuum for your power brakes. The kits have a rotary vane-style pump that generates 25 Hg of vacuum, and is 30% more efficient than a piston-style pump so you get vacuum more quickly. The Bandit pump is also 60% quieter than piston-style pumps, which you’ll appreciate.

The pump is pre-wired and tested at the factory. The two-wire power hookup and included baseplate mount template make installation much simpler. You can get a Bandit Vacuum with a black or chrome housing that looks like a factory vacuum canister, or without the canister for installation in tight spaces.

Summit Racing also carries LEED Brakes master cylinders, proportioning valves, adjustable master cylinder pushrods, and brake booster brackets.
